Now what do you think would happen to me if I created a tennis site and did the same thing?
If I were being truly altruistic I'd merely copy and paste the relevant stuff over here and be done with it. Not trying to lure people over to sign up for newsletters and click on my links for ad $.
Instead he was posting stuff like multiple times a day:
"Fot those of u that are getting our newsletter from our zzzz site, as most of u already do, look @ who was a pick for the WIN this weekend?
DENNY HAMLIN was!
that was obviously xxxx pick in the nesletter, and he akso hit it for the real $ on the race as well so congrats xxx as well!!"
Now wtf would you do if you were running a company that cost 10s of thousands a day in wages, server fees, etc to keep going across multiple sites and someone was blatantly advertising on it for two weeks? We have a NASCAR forum. Either post your stuff or don't but don't blatantly advertise on SBR and brag about how many people now subscribe to your newsletter thanks to the $ John pays to retain posters and everything else. He could've posted the info quietly and no one would have a clue about his site but of course that wasn't the goal.
Some of you are acting brand new and like you purposely don't know jack about how SBR is run yet I've seen some of you in other threads rejoicing when posters were banned for the same thing. You're letting your e-feelings for a stranger get in the way of common sense and I'm side-eyeing all of you for being so silly.Comment -

#108Yes except he posted the link multiple times daily, said he was involved with it and also changed his avatar to promote the website.

#116The 5mike5 era is over. It's time to get some fresh blood coursing through SBR's veins. Myself and Shari dropped the hammer. That's all you need to know. There will be no reinstatement unless he agrees to pay an undisclosed fine to an SBR charity.

#1195mike5 is a great poster here, especially in the NASCAR forums where this place needs him. If SBR is smart and wants their NASCAR forums to have any activity and insightful advice into it, they will unban him.Comment -

Perhaps, but 5mike5 also touched babies that didn't belong to him in their "diaper zone."
Is that the kind of guy you want to heap praise upon? Is that what NASCAR handicapping has come to?Comment -

#1231 of the few genuine posters here. Cut the guy a break. The wheel of banishment crap and these little skits are a joke.
Solid posters are leaving in droves while the Landers & Deemers hang around mushing & scamming everyone.Comment -

#125I like 5mike5. Good, friendly guy.
Never visited the NASCAR forum, never played one of his plays.
Can't say whether he intended to get clients over to his site to create traffic, click adds, possibly buying his pick in the future or not.
From all I've read, I doubt it. Means nothing though, just my opinion.
Maybe he just wanted to provide good info and that's that.
Problem I see here is: Where exactly is the line that can not be crossed when posting links? Nobody would say that it is not allowed to link f.e. nfl.com, nba.com, uefa.com. Sites to compare odds should be fine as well. IMO any side that has good insight and info should be allowed to be posted. When it comes to other gambling forums, or let's say I would post "btw: visit my blogabet account abcdefg.com" where it would be possible that I would sell my picks, I agree - not allowed. I think he may have crossed the line, but it could very well be possible that he did it without noticing. I haven't seen his site, so no idea.
All in all, I'd say a serious warning would have been absolutely enough here (Maybe there were warnings before though).
I think he should be reinstated, give the guy a fair chance. Call it probation or whatever.
For not shooting a laughable whiny ass video alone he deserves this.Comment -

#128There will be no reinstatement upon further review. The whole encroachment in the "diaper zone" thing is unforgivable. Anybody who cries foul on 5mike5's behalf is guilty by association.Comment -

#130Yeah JV.... it's looking that way. Although, in all fairness, I'd have to review your case files and career winning percentage before reaching a verdict.
But I don't think you want to be associated with a guy who wears Tide pajamas and lets his hands wander into the "diaper zone" of the little babies that someday will be big peoples.Comment -

#133if u want his opinion and picks, you can simply go to his site, right?
so why does he need to post here? so he can continue touting his site and building a larger customer base?

#134Yeah but why would anyone want to buy picks from a guy who thinks it's a good a idea to film himself in the middle of a nervous breakdown while sitting in a parked car and upload it to the net?
Doesn't that whole scenario speak to a larger deficit in judgment that could cripple his ability to handicap sports?Comment -

why does it have to be rocking? the more it rocks, the more money sbr makes. so why not go make his site rock so he'll make all the money?Comment
