Anybody from or been to Madison, WI?

Went to school there. One of the best cities in the country. You'll have a blast day drinking at the union terrace on the lake and the bar scene on state street is top notch. The KK, state street brats, hawks, mondays are some great bars all within walking distance of each other.

dude its one of the best college campuses in the country.. what else do you need to know ? town is beautiful.. great nature.. lakes everywhere.. amazing bar scene.. you are going to eat and drink very well.. have fun.. go enjoy..

During the week it will be calmer, probably better because when I go back to Madison now the hammered freshman with fakes annoy the shit out of me. As Mets said go to the Terrace at Memorial Union, great place to chill and drink Spotted Cow.

If you want to get wasted go to Mondays, strongest drinks in the city.
The KK sucks, don't go there.
Brats, Vintage, Hawks, are good bars, vary a little depending on what you're looking for.
Jordan's Big 10 is a good sports bar near the stadium.
Wandos has dollar beers and free bacon on Tuesdays.

Lots of bars, if you don't like the one you're in walk 10 yards or go around the corner and you'll find another. State Street is fantastic. The street ends at the Capitol building, the bars generally have more of a young professional crowd near the capitol and more college kid bars as you walk to the other end. It's also a cool place during the day, plenty of cool shops, food, etc.

Does the Terrace have rooms? I think I might be staying there? There's a bar that stays open until like 10 I think?

Nah, the terrace is part of the student union. Food, places to hang out, study, etc. The terrace outside has a lot of tables and areas to chill right on the water.

Idr where I'm staying. Coworker told me where you stay but idr. Pretty big place that has a bar that closes at 10. It wasn't a chain hotel for sure

If it's not a chain and it's downtown next to campus could be the Concourse which is very nice. Pretty much everything else is a Hyatt, Hilton, etc.

the edgewater is the hotel right on the lake on langdon. pretty cool spot with a bar on the lake. Used to live next door to that place for a few years. Easy walking distance to everything you need to do

We used to follow the Hawkeyes up there..Good times. Excellent tailgating.

In Iowa City you can drink a 5th of Jack while walking down the street on gameday, but no taverns/businesses near the stadium, so you just walk around.
In Madison you couldn't take a step off the curb with a drink in your hand, but plenty of bars and places to be.

Found out where I'm staying. Its actually on University Ave. I heard the place with free bacon and dollar beers on Tuesdays is the place to be by a colleague

Apparently, I'm from Wisconsin. I just learned this today on SBR.

I have no idea what is in and around Madison or the rest of the state, though. I'm still quite confused about this whole being from Wisconsin situation, but I suppose I'll try to make the most of it.
