under "the law", as you put it, the secy of state has to "certify" that egypt is having free elections, democracy, etc etc etc before the US sends aid

but under the same law, the state dept is allowed to waive those restrictions if they deem it in "national security interests", and that's happened before

so say whatever you want about the US giving aid to other countries, the current govt of Egypt. or the law itself, but looking at this and saying "liberals dont care about the law" is just colossally moronic on like 8 different levels
