Saw the midnight show last night and liked it. Best super-hero flick I've seen in quite a while.

just came back from seeing it. Was ok I guess, good actions scenes and was really liking everything they did on krypton and the origin story but some of the dialogue was really corny.

Somehow I think that the one story filmed in different movies could not be interesting , but anyway I am going to watch it this week , so I hope that it would not be a waste of time

Great special effects. Story was cool but you've heard it a thousand times. This superman was a little too dark for me. He is supposed to be the Boy Scout.

that's the weak point, i agree too. Goyer did not deliver well enough w/the script sometimes... but Snyder and Nolan and everyone else did. From how they changed small things for the better, to the suit... to the action, while also having emotion and depth... the dark undertones of the movie about humanity. it all adds up to a huge winning movie.
just set a June record with 125 million first weekend, once again word of mouth defeats clueless critics
Superman Returns in comparison did 52... puke
goodbye with the old... welcome to the modern world Supes
WARNING.... SEMI-SPOILERS BELOW (kind of)
he was basically learning to be Superman by the 2nd half of the movie... learning what path he would choose... and how to go about it. so to everyone who cries because there would be loss of life in battles like the ones in the movie and that isn't "Superman"... get over yourself.
how he should have found a different way to stop Zod... sure, a different way...
Again, he was just in the beginning stages of his transformation into being Superman. He will learn his ideals and how to maybe move a fight away from the masses of people down the road.
If you didn't understand these things... or you thought you should bring a 7-year old to this movie, then that's your fault for not looking into the movie before seeing it... and expecting to show up and see some sort of Christopher Reeves 1980 type movie. You really think a movie studio would do that again after the debacle of 2006 and Bryan Singer??? Hahaha
People amuse me, this isn't your dads Superman
I ABSOLUTELY love this movie... and have been waiting for it for years and I like all the other incarnations of his character over the years as well. I don't like seeing the same shit over and over again. PLEASE.

... you missed the whole point of the movie pal, were you not listening during the flashback scenes of Clark and Pa Kent?
even my mom loved the movie, and she is the most loving person on this planet.

Very good.
Mediocre dialogue (especially when compared to Whedon's work on the Avengers), anticlimactic finish, and other minor (but forgivable) plot device problems kept it from being a 10/10.

you mean a scene coming after the credits start to roll, then no.
if you pay attention during the movie and have a quick eye, you will see enough easter eggs to know what's up

I'm not an action movie guy but took my kids to see it today. Aside from the final fight scene going on far too long, I truly enjoyed this movie. Acting was excellent particularly Diane Lane as his mother and Michael Shannon as Zod. I thought Zod's foxy lieutenant was a subtle show stealer. Anyway, the thing that struck me most was the Christ complex the writer's injected throughout this movie. Superman spent 33 years before he decided to save the world. I can't recite the bible chapter and verse but do know Jesus died at 33 and not much else is known before then. The two fathers, the miracles, etc... Thought it was well worth the price of admission.

nice to see other people enjoyed this movie too. i also wasnt sure zach snyder would deliver becuase sucker punch was shit and watchmen was boring but he did good. lol unfortunately christopher nolan cant direct everything. Thought kevin costner was great in the movie for the little time he was on screen but i gotta admit i was a little underwhelmed by michael shannon as zod cuz the dude is such a great actor yet to me he didnt have any stand out moments.
guy is awesome when he plays crazy people. i still remember this awesome scene from boardwalk empire. Check out his crazy ass face during the scene. lol Dont fuk with this guy!!!!

Lmao, missed the whole point of the movie? As loving as your mom is, pick up a comic book or watch any version of superman in the movies or television and you will know what I mean. As another poster wrote, the director had to make some changes to this superman for the next generation and to make the retelling a little more interesting. This is not your mom's or dad's superman. You could literally hear the whole theatre gasp when superman kills Zod. Do some research and you will understand why.
