Is it really fair to characterize the victims of misinformation, manipulation, and propaganda as "unpatriotic idiots" without mentioning the bad actors who are putting out this information and doing the manipulation? Maybe someone thought they were acting patriotic by trying to "oppose" an unjust election result. Just because you are college-educated, studied psychology (I believe) and have a higher IQ than the average person, maybe you are less susceptible to misinformation and manipulation. Is it really fair to criticize others falling victims to manipulation when you have advantages and opportunities that that others don't have?
If one's aim is to make the President of the country look like he's demented to the rest of the world, with fake evidence, then yes of course it's unpatriotic.
When it comes to being a victim of misinformation and manipulation, I never hold it against the anyone, initially. But once they've been corrected and been shown where they have gone wrong, yet continue to spread the misinformation, it becomes a different issue altogether.
These are the problems, not innocent victims of misinformation simply because they lack critical thinking skills or trivial knowledge. It's the not so innocent "vicitms" that I lament.
The intentional misinfo spreaders, and those that really don't know better, but not because they haven't been told, but because they can't process something that isn't direct propaganda.

I want to be very clear here, because I have posted about this many times as I've fought some misinfo here at SBR. I've basically written your post in the past.
My harsh words in the post you replied to already take your post into account.
I wouldn't criticize someone for not knowing trivial information, I am not criticizing someone for "falling victim to maniplation when you have advantages and opportunities..."
Forget all that, in fact get the fukk out with all that. That's not what this is about, not at all. Do not assume I am just criticising the ignorant. You should read my post again, I acknowledge the susceptibility to propaganda, as I have a million times. So get the fukk out with that high horse bullshit about average person, IQ, and opportunity.
That part has already been hashed over, multiple times and I even do it in that original post.
I've always criticized the bad actors taking advantage of internet and the gullible, but again we are way past that.
The political and COVID posters at SBR have been shown, multiple times, and continue to spout the same purely agenda based lies over and over again. This is what I'm talking about.
You mention being patriotic by trying to oppose an unjust election result. I never mentioned anything about an election result, I'm not arguing one side or the other. I don't give a shit about the mass of opinions on that, mostly because they are based on misinformation.
That is what I lament, the propagation of misinformation over and over again by the same people using the same sources. At one point, these posters become the bad actors. They know it's misinformation, yet continue the agenda based posting with the misinfo.

But I wasn't, that's not what I'm doing. I just want to be very clear there. What's in bold has been happening for so long, like years now, and every time I check into those threads, it's the same nonsense. The same info even. I paid my dues to debunk the myths, the bs vids, etc, long ago. Clearly some do it with intention. They may not know better.
