We welcome lively and passionate debate, but when the posts turn simply personal in nature, SBR reserves the right to either edit or move those posts as seen fit.

As far as Daimo... not sure why some guys are obsessed with him but I've personally banned him quite a few times and other staff have too. Difference is he doesn't cry, whine, bitch, etc when it happens. He knows why it happens and just comes back when it's over. Say whatever you want about him but he's not a vag.

I am quite surprised that you don't see how SBR members find the idea of a poster like daimoshokage being banned "quite a few times" and being allowed to return as ludicrous. The idea of a ban is to punish and in some way rehabilitate the poster, he comes back just as fukked as usual. Hardly seems like your temporary bans are having any effect on him whatsoever.

In the whole scheme of the world as we know it, what damage does Daimo do? Does he troll? Yeah. But so do guys like frizzelli for example who make new posters feel unwelcome and we end up getting 30 complaints everytime he tells someone to gtfo and shut up because they only have a certain number of posts. Not a slam on Frizzy... just happened to see a complaint a few minutes ago so it's in my head.

If someone like Chi_Archie is allowed back even after scamming and ghosting or Slick Fazzer or any of the other guys who got Xmas pardons or wtf that was, that basically tells you how SBR feels about banning people permanently: If you're gone for good then you screwed over SBR or the posting community big time (or tried to at least). It's not in John's blood to kick guys from here unless you really show you have no purpose other than to steal or hurt the forum in general. I don't always agree with that as I'm a bloody bitch obviously but he's right. Daimo knows what the limits are and truthfully when I'm working - and baskets is the exact same for example - if I PM them and tell them to stfu or just leave a thread alone or they'll be gone, they listen. So what's the right balance? A few say anything should be allowed but don't understand that SBR is actually a larger business in the scheme of the gambling forum world and wants to keep it cleanish for many reasons. Most others want things to be tightly regulated ie no trolling, no insults, etc. It's a fine line that I think is hard to perfect but we're trying. And with more non US posters here than American ones the benchmarks change again because of language and culture differences so I guess it's a work in progress. Any (kind) constructive criticism or suggestions are always welcome!

Not sure why either of them are allowed to do what they do. While I think daimoshokage might be the worst troll on SBR, I don't think any trolls should be tolerated. Generally the rule of thumb is to attack the post, not the poster. When you have trolls like daimoshokage, frizzelli, and crustyme (to name a few) they go into threads with preconceived attitudes and regurgitate the same hate speeches they have been spewing for weeks, months, maybe years.

Of course I understand SBR is a business, page views are priority, and trolls do create a lot of traffic. I just think there has to be a line between a poster who attacks the post and the trolls who attack the posters the way daimoshokage does day after day.

I think that's one of the biggest misconceptions about SBR... page views aren't a priority. There is so much traffic that comes here for reasons other than the forum. That's where I think people sometimes get a bit misguided when they wonder why or how a poster could leave here without SBR putting up a fuss. PT is not SBR... not even close. And if you read between the lines in that then what happened with JJ will make much more sense. Same goes for anyone else. And while there are sometimes posters that I just want gone because they cause me more grief than they seem to be worth, I also respect SBR's stance on it all. Some of the people who frustrate me one week are often those who make me piss myself laughing the next.
