Baseball card collectors: Can anyone give me an idea of value???? 25pts awarded
    Of this:

It's one of those autographs from a historical person. The Beckett price guide lists these autos as unpriced due to scarcity

i'll give 25pts for someone who can give a legit idea of value

It's probablt worth somewhere around 1500-2200

It's hard to price because of the card rarity but his signature rarity overl isn't as rare..

So around that price range would be a fair market value

This card has been listed already 5 times on ebay. 1st 3 times he was asking $8000.

best thing to do is just let the market decide, hopefully you pulled that in a pack, list it starting at .99 for 10 days and sit back and watch

the card will def go for over 1500 just sit and watch, could go way up there.

                      good luck

Some cards from that series are worth a lot more:

A few yrs back when they started making these 1/1 cards. A guy at becket told me they are worth what someone will pay for them.

But he did say the less the market is flooded with autographs from that person the higher it can go. But just because there are thousands of jeter autographs out there on everything from bats to balls to cards, doesnt mean there isnt a jeter collector out there who wants to be the only one with that card and auto/

Pretty much came down to again how much someone is willing to pay for that particular auto/card

Rule of thumb here is what the actual autograph on a sheet of paper is worth. For Dali, $300 - $350 as you know it's authentic if Topps bought it, cut the signature, and pressed it between some cardboard. Over the last decade all the card companies started including autographs on cards inside unopened packs. Mostly they have an athelete sign strips of tape on a sheet of paper. they then peel each strip of tape off and attach it to a card of that player and you suddenly have an autographed card. they do the same thing with game worn jerseys - cut them up into 1"X 1" squares and press them between cardboard and now you have a game-worn jersey card. Slap a tape of an autograph on it and you have an extremely rare and scarce (Add sarcasm) autographed jersey card.

I'd say the Dali is a $300 card. If its still in good shape (4 sharp corners, no creases) send it to PSA or Beckett to independantly grade the condition and encase it in tamper-roof plastic. This will add to the value.

By the way, I'm always looking for mint cards from the 1950's to the 1970's.

$300 ??? C'mon it's gotta be worth more, Dali isn't as scarce as Picasso. I offered a 1k for it he countered with 1500. I'm holding strong at a 1k, we'll see if he bites

I think that you are overpaying at $1K. Regardless, if you buy it get it graded.

You mean Get the auto graded? I doubt it'd be graded a mint gem if its not would that hurt the value?

The card will be assigned the grade. Since it is a newer card the emphasis will be on the corners meaning all 4 need to be sharp - no dull edges. As it is a 1 of 1, you really cant go wrong by having it graded as that will only enhance the value and increasing the desirability for non-collectors who really on 3rd parties to independantly classify the condition. The two most reliable companies are PSA and Beckett.

I would feel very confident having a Topps card graded. I'd also dial down the amount of $ I'd pay for the Dali auto but that's just me. I would rather have a mint card of big-eared Don mossi from the '60's than a 7 year old cut auto from present day. (I also have 4 cats and 3 dogs so that tells you all that you need to know about me.)
