That number only applies to people over the age of 65. For the general population it's closer to half that

And no, masks aren't necessary per se. At this point it's a way to show a certain amount of consideration, maybe limit the spread by a small amount if you can stand a minor inconvenience to yourself. I don't begrudge people who aren't wearing masks anymore. I still appreciate those who do. But life is all a matter of risk. Every time you even get in your car and drive you're taking a risk. I get that

Glad I got in and out of Vegas before all the restrictions come back. Had a great time and even got a little poker in.

Unfortunately I am supposed to do New Years with some friends that may be in jeopardy because of our wonderful government.
