I claimed a horse last month, It was a yearling.

Not even one race horse died last night. 16k down the drain. There is no insurance in the horse business.

I purchased a yearling last week at the woodbine yearling auction. (so far no problems)

If you have PM's drop me some info on insurnace please i was told otherwise.

(im waiting for an autospy to see if the previous owner used drugs on it or what caused the death to see if i can go after them.)

I do have PM so let's talk. You will want to notify the ins. co. BEFORE you claim the horse if you want claim race day coverage or afterwards to set it up, your choice. You can probably google for some info.

Rule of thumb used to be 8% of the claim price per year if memory serves.

That was 10+ years ago. Pricey, but some want it , some don't.
