Washington Nationals are arguably the best baseball team right now, yet no one goes to their games.
What is going on out there?

That is better than average on a weekday. Petco Park gets that, during rivalry series, on the weekends.

I live 15 minutes away from SW side of the city. Im was born in DC but growing up I had no baseball to root for.. So I would always watch the Orioles with my father in the early 90's. I then grew to love Cal Ripken and my Birds.... I now live in MD but still support my Ooooooooooooooooos. Rarely go to any Nats games tho but when I do I enjoy them all the time. Great atmosphere at the park.

good! because that team has been crap forever; it's good to see them put together such a good team, even if my Giants might have to battle them in the playoffs.

Lostbankroll is a good example. Lot of people in the area are already Orioles fans.
Also, I've heard that it's an in convenience just to get to the ballpark. Not too easy.
In their brief history, lot of cellar dwelling.
Should change for next year. They will have higher attendance averages next year

Definitely a huge inconvenience.
Zero parking near the ballpark, everyone has to cram onto the crappy (that's being generous) metro system.
Then after getting off the metro you have to walk through crackhead alley to get to the stadium.

I don't live there, but that's what I was thinking.
Poor location. It's become a real estate issue.
Tampa Bay has bad location, not as good attendance.
I've heard Oakland isn't as good either.(poor attendance)
So fellahs, what other teams have poorly located ballparks.

Everybody can get at least 10,000 hard core fans to show up.
I think the trick is these teams have gotta find ways to get 20-30,000 more fans to show up.
Now that seems to be the hard part.

So what's up with Cleveland?
We know they have too many poor people to afford the MLB prices. Not a big market either.
So is the place located poorly? Hard to get to? Bad parking availability? High crime area?

You saw empty seats because of the rain delay. Game was delayed about an hour and it was pouring. That stadium has a lot of energy. Check out the seats tonight... It'll be a full house.

They placed the stadium where the city expect redevelopment... SW one of the worst parts of DC. Yet this is forcing companies and big contracts to begin working on projects near Nationals Park... There IS parking but it will be expensive as it would for any live sporting event. As far as metro... it IS easy getting there in my opinion... All you do is ride the fuckkin metro and get out and walk to the stadium which is like 5 min walk away. The funniest thing about the whole thing is that you walk past all the city unks selling Nationals merchandise and tickets.. Anywhere else you get prosecuted for doing so... but for some reason it is allowed for city unks to seel and make money literally step from the park. Early Christmas gift to the city unks.. as they then turn right around the corner to pick up their crack/heroin fix just about 2 blocks from Nationals Park..
