Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew is open to being traded
Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew is open to being traded, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Schefter has also stated that he fully expects MJD's holdout to last into the regular season. I've heard Atlanta and Denver listed as potential landing places.

Lower season ticket prices and that should mean larger attendance at games also the majority of people in London don't know the difference between the Jags or the Steelers for example it's a good move in my mind only time will tell.
Jags not looking to be a run first team anymore and don't want to pay MJD what he is asking for and I don't blame them of course he is a monster but handing him the ball every single play isn't going to win look at the pervious two years he can lead the league in rushing all he wants but its not a wining forumla for this team.... They need to invest that money else where.
Also the new owner has said MULTIPLE jags aren't going anywhere his plans actually aren't that crazy and could work but we'll see.

This is why I grabbed Jennings in the 13th round.
I feel sorry for the fuk in my league that picked MJD #9 overall. Wait, no I don't.

It goes both ways....teams can cut players and not pay their base salaries for the remaining years on the contract.

Jones-Drew skipped the team's entire offseason workout program, including a mandatory, three-day minicamp last month. If new coach Mike Mularkey is fining Jones-Drew the maximum allowed under the collective bargaining agreement - $20,000 for each day of minicamp and $30,000 for each day since training camp opened - the total is up to $870,000. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/agent-m...1032--nfl.html I say continue fining his ass....Use the greedy bastard as an example, that you play what you sign for, and that there is no sitting out and whining because you are only making 4 million per year.

I agree, but does signing MJD to a max contract a smart idea? No he is not a player to build a franchise around imo. I hate Gabbert tho and I thought that was a terrible move I do love Blackmon tho so if those two find chemistry that will be a start.
Hopefully they find some sort of trade for him and don't lose him next year, because there is no reason to keep him this season he won't give any effort at all so no point in letting him sit on the sidelines. I wonder what teams are offering for him has anyone read anything? I've only heard the Broncos and Jets but havent heard any possible trades?

Jennings is no MJD, but he fills in just fine. Almost just as productive. So no pressure to cave into MJD's demands.
It is just preseason, but Gabbert has been playing very well.
