chipper jones is an all time great. The guy could sit out 3/4 of the season, and still be a top player at the end of the season.

he's a fawken puzzy man, when it coems down to it he chickens out, he can play, but hes a puzzy at heart, even John Smoltz called him out for taking games off, and chipper fired back with "smoltz better not miss any starts" that was his only come back, the guy is a fawken puszzy from head to toe. and hey, i still think he was once a great player.

The guy is a brick wall and hes been that way his entire career. Just because john smoltz got upset after a loss and blasted chipper doesnt mean he was right in doing so. Smoltz is a pitcher and not a doctor so anything he says should be taken with a grain of salt. If chipper jones was a pussy and milked injuries he would have been long gone by now.

What?
He is 40 years old and he is hitting .318 with 6 home runs and 33 RBIs and a O.B.P of almost .400. The guy is an over .300 lifetime hitter and one of the best hitters you could ever have at the plate in a clutch game irregardless of his ability to hit right or left, look at his career on base percentage numbers. Probably the best switch hitter to ever play the game. He has the second leading batting average on the Braves at 40 years old, people just didnt put him in the all star game because of his age.

I think Chipper is one of the all time best players in the last 20 years. Not just for his numbers but he as a person is a class act. Now he is no where near the same skills as like Bonds or Griffey, players like that but still top 5%. I've always been a Chipper fan.

Chipper Jones savor a final All-Star moment
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National League clubhouse was virtually vacant late Tuesday night. The All-Star game ended nearly 90 minutes ago, and players were hurriedly making travel reservations or party plans....
Chipper Jones, who earlier donated his bat and cap to the Hall of Fame, took his time stashing away the last All-Star jersey of his career....
Jones, 40, spending his eighth and final All-Star game with his four sons, said it was a surreal weekend. He was planning to come even if he hadn't made the All-Star Game. Yet, here he was, getting a hit in his final at-bat, with Hall of Fame executive Brad Horn walking and asking for artifacts.
"I'm totally honored,'' Jones said. "This guy's coming up to me and asking if they can take some stuff to Cooperstown'' Jones said. "What are you going to say, "Naaaah.'
"I'll gladly give it up because I'm going to take my kids up there soon. It'll be pretty cool for them to see some of their stuff from their dad in there.''

Remember when Cal Ripken Jr hit a HR in his final AS game?
Same thing here. Chipper was given a free pass and he new it..could tell by his laughing when he got on 1st base. Kinsler left him a big opening and didn't even try to get it

Bunch of guys coming in after the fact talking about what happened. Guys always have an excuse after a game or a perfect rationale when they win. Un-Fokkn_real.
Nice job Sammy "W" Odom. Only one with balls to make a prediction and you nailed it.
Now if only you had the same sense when it came to politics. Real shame.
