I did post a video of me opening a Northwestern package. I think that is pretty decent proof of law school... but fair enough. You see..........back in August/2011 you posted that law school was going to run $120K and that your parents were picking up the entire tab (see below link........post # 492...page 15). In the same thread.....(post #518) you wrote that you'd already been accepted in to law school (remember....this was August/2011). But, lately......you've been posting about a start date of August 4th, 2012. Weird stuff.

You claimed to have been working full time during college, making 52K a year working for a bank...hard to believe an 18 year old kid with no prior job experience just hops right into that job....So now you got a job making 52K a year, you have a decent credit score that should be solid, since you've been paying your own bills since 18.
But you're telling sweep who has a poor credit score, that Citi gives you the best credit, making it seem you're kinda in the same boat as him.

I'm just going to answer this question honestly. I got a Capital one card right when I turned 18. They gave me a $1,000 limit.
I decided having 2 cards would be better so I applied for an AMX Cash rewards card and they gave me a ridiculously sad limit of $600. Not even worth getting that one but I didn't cancel it b/c I was worried canceling is bad for your credit score. I then applied for a CITI card in 2008 or 2009 (think of the time and the economy) and they gave me a $6,000 limit. I'm not sure if they give that kind of limit to everyone, but my ex got declined by CITI and shes never had a card, so I doubt they do.
I've paid plenty of bills. And honestly, I don't see how you make this jump from what I told sweep about CITI giving me the highest limit and not paying bills. I don't see a connection and think it is a little childish and obscure. I only use ************ for the cash rewards honestly. I pay it off to 0 and never pay interest.
I just don't think they offer lots of credit to people with limited credit ranges. AT the time of all this, I had only had a credit history for 3-4 years.Comment -

Impressive because Capital one gave me my first CC and it was 600 dollar limit...That was when I was around 20...I had a job for the previous 2 years(w-2's) and also had a car loan that had already been completely paid off among other bills...I can't believe that they only gave me 600 limit, and gave you a guy that has no income or bills at 18 a 1,000 limit.

Why would I lie about that? Capital One gave me a 1K limit. The APR was ghastly, something like 29% I think.
What year did you apply for this? I'm not sure of your age, but if you applied AFTER the credit bubble crashed, maybe that has something to do with the smaller limit? I was 18 in 2006... so this was well before the economy took a major downturnComment -
$1,000 pretty standard for your first CC. Got mine at 19 and they saw I had quite a bit of money saved up and showed them some cheques being deposited in my savings account like I had guaranteed income(like a job) coming in even though I wasn't. Only thing is the late fees and shit if you don't pay it off on time really bites you in the ass.Comment -
Ah, yes, I remember the application asked for checking/savings or both and I entered both and then an amount of around 50K combined. Maybe that had something to do with the higher limit. As I've said, I've never used credit legitimately. I use it for gas/food/bills and then pay it off at the end of the month out of my checking account. My credit score is 709... nothing special, probably won't go up until I start paying a mortgage.Comment -
