I'm saying that unless you are betting over 500 dollars, chasing and doing parlays with 2 dollars or so might be more profitable. I spend over 4 hours checking a few games to find a decent bet in one of the games. That is like making 2.5 dollar per hour with a 10% ROI if I bet 100 each time.

I'm not saying to bet by the time spent handicapping.

Why even bother? Put inyour 60 hour weeks at work and just watch the games and chill. Those 4 hours you spend looking into games to come up with $1-4 you couldve just spent putting in overtime.

The thing is I'll never be able to stop doing overtime if I keep working and working only, and betting might get you rich. The chances of being rich betting are low but working only are cero. Besides I love the rush and the math behind the games.

This is the math: The most you can make betting 100 dollars per day are 10 dollars per bet. That if you hit a 10% ROI which you wont in the long run. Betting 100 dollars is a waste of time. That's it.

I remember Kyle Hunter made 10K in 2009 or 2010, betting 100 per bet. Then in january of the next year he lost 16 in a row and some more. If he had decided to increase his bets to 500 the next year after making 10K he would have lost all the money won the year before. And it happens to most people who keep raising the bet size as they win.

All depends on the situation man. I've bet $100 per play since I was a sophomore in college, living off of loans. I am not making decent money, and still keep my unit at $100. (Although, I am much more willing to take big risks, with mutliple units).

It's all up to the person.

Bet what you can. It is what separates the smart from the buried.

I wont chase till 2000 at once. I will chase till it doesn't hurt and i will ride or parley on the earning. Once I have made some money then i might chase a bigger number to chase if I want to. Any one could be lucky enough not to lose a chase of 2 dollars with 2000 bankroll. This is just like playing lottery. You risk a few bucks and aim for a bunch of ceros. Betting 100 will make you 10K in one year if you are the best handicapper in the world in your best year. But in the real life, you will be able to make at most 3000 a year betting 100 per game.

I'm just saying that betting 100 is as nonsense as betting 2 dollars and doing chases, parlays and riding on the earning. Chase 2 dollars up to 100 and parley 20 up to 160. Then bet 160 in straight bets. You know just fool around with something like that is the same as betting 100 all the time.

If you're handicapping four hours per bet... you're not doing it right.

But you have a valid point about time spent not adding up to profits made in a lot of cases. That said most clowns lose money at this anyway, and those that are smart enough to make money at it, will also be smart enough to figure out how to increase their hourly rate.

You guys have to be kidding me, Billy Walter and Floyd Mayweather have a team of people working full time, full duty picking games for them, each of their bets have probably over 100 hours of handicapping per bet. A proffesional could spend 2 days handicapping to bet nothing because he find no juice. There are so many angles to look into a game that make it a full time proffesion. You guys are kids playing, not proffesionals. i have friend who used to bet by inspiration and I have take time to explain them which stats to look at and now they spend the the whole night to pick a game.

You handicap a game you have to look in previous games (I have a 20 years data base) to compare results in similar cituation, weather, stats of quarter by quarter to see which has more juice, read different previews, check injuries and value added by each player in and out, referee stats, coach stats in certain cituations. Only checking to compare with old data there are hundreds of angles to check. This is bussiness, and only people like Billy Walter who understands that can succeed here. You guys are going no where.

Then Billy Walter is not doing it right. Read or talk with any famous handicapper, they spend 10 hours a day in the computer and at the end of the day they share with some other handicappers the results, adding even more hours to their 10 hours of handicapping.

You are right, but is is possible to be proffitable playing the lottery too. All is takes is luck.

You are right, smart people are smart enough to figure out how to increase their hourly rate, they find other people to do the job for them, then they look at the final results to make a bet.

You are right. And that is my point chase/parlay 2 dollars is for fun unless you get lucky. It is like playing the lottery. Losing 100 bucks 7 days in a row is not that fun.
