I know Ali personally and also spoke to a key member of his group on Facebook yesterday who confirmed he is in the shape of his life. He is the world number 1 triathlete by a long way (his younger brother is no 2). He won the Olympic test event on the same course in the rain last year. The true odds for him to win should be -200 or lower. I don't like to call anything a stone cold lock but barring a bike crash, a puncture or him getting sick on the morning of the race he should win.

Check out the run splits of some of his recent triathlons, he takes minutes out of guys in the top 5 in the world.

I have about $900 on him and may add more. GL

Yeah he got a micro tear in his achilles earlier in the year. However if anything this has mean't he is peaking at the right time and isn't tired or burnt out from doing a bunch of races earlier in the season. He comfortably won his comeback race a month or so ago in Kitzbuehel beating anyone who's anyone i.e his brother, gomez, the russian fella by over a minute.

Melissa Franklin -280 in the 200m Back
Michael Phelps -600 in the 200m Fly

James Magnussen -225 is a pretty solid bet in the 100m Free

Trey Hardee -380 to NOT win gives you the field as well.

Sun does look really strong but here's why I picked Park at +179 rather than him NOT to win at -185

-It's simply much better value. Sun should be slightly favored, but not by this much.
-Olympic experience... Park has been here before and is the defending champ
-Don't put too much stock in best times. All that matters is one race
-Sun was favored to win last year at World's but when they finally raced together Park took him down. Park also won their head-to-head battle at the 2010 Asian Games.
-And like I mentioned before, Park should have a chip on his shoulder for being overlooked as the defending Olympic and World champion

However, there are much better plays on the board rather than the men's 400 free. Might just be a good race to watch.

Really like all those. Except (surprisingly) Phelps at -600 in the 200 fly. Definitely not worth the chalk. The 200 fly is his bread and butter, but actually in recent years he doesn't seem to have the dominant closing speed on that last 50. The field has closed the gap on Phelps in this event considerably. I expect Nick D'Arcy to have a breakout swim... probably around 1:53 low. Matsuda threatening 1:53. It's Phelps' race to lose but there's no way I'm laying -600.

The odds for this and the women's 200 breast should be reversed... Soni should be around -600.

Pretty crazy how different the odds are at different sites. Yannick Agnel to win the 200 free at Pinnacle is still high; at +260 while it's +100 at Bovada.... grab it at Pinnacle if you can
