I received a payout from JustBet recently and I deposited $1500 into my bank on May 22nd. The deposit appeared to go into my account just fine as I checked my account the next day. Well, today I noticed that $1000(one of the money orders) was taken out of my account yesterday. WTF??? Why would this happen? I sent my bank an email asking them what the problem was but I haven't called them yet. Has this ever happened to anyone before?

That's what I was thinking which is why I did not call my bank immediately. I ended up calling my bank anyway and they told me "the *********** had insufficient funds". Couldn't they figure this out when I originally cashed it? I then contacted JustBet and they told me they can't look into it until Monday. Is it more likely that my bank is at fault or JustBet? I'm going to be mad as hell if I get screwed on this.Comment -

My bank is going to mail the MO back to me. My bank assured me that the person that sent it stopped payment. JustBet assured me that it was as good as cash. Someone is wrong... I called JustBet again this evening. They told me I'd have to call back tomorrow during the day time. What a pain in the ass...Comment -

Thanks for your help Sharky. Here's the current situation, I got the cancelled MO back from my bank. Before I decided to Fax it to you I decided to run down to my bank and show it to them and ask them how this happened. The bank teller was as baffled as we were. I asked her if I could recash it but I wanted to make sure that it didn't get taken out again. She said "I don't see why it would, and I don't know how it happened in the first place." So that's exactly what I did. So as of right now it seems as if my bank was at fault for this. They didn't give me back the $15 they charged me(for it bouncing) yet but I'm hoping to get that back too. I'm going to wait a few days and make sure the MO stays in my account this time. I still can't figure out how my bank got it wrong the first time. It might be time for me to find another bank.Comment -

I've been trying to figure this out for years myself. The more I think about it the more it enrages me. I'm headed to a family reunion in just over a week. I think around 80%(probably higher) of my family plays the Lottery on a regular basis. I think I'm going to try explain to them how the lottery works compared to "illegal" things like sports betting.
This is what I plan on telling them... imagine if we hired a company here at our family reunion to be in charge of a raffle. There are 100 raffle tickets sold at $10 a piece. There will be one prize. There are 2 different companies that we can hire. Company A or Company B. Company A will collect a total of $1000 and there will be one prize of $500. Company A keeps the rest. OR we can hire Company B. Company B will collect a total of $1000 and payout one prize of $955 and keep the rest. My family will likely say both are ripoffs but Company A is far worse. I will then explain to them that Company A is exactly what the Lottery does on a daily bases. And Company B is similar to what most Sportsbooks do. I'm pretty sure none of them will understand it and will continue to play the Lottery regularly but I think I'll at least feel better for trying to educate them.Comment -
I thought this headache was behind me but it turns out that it's not. I went out of town on June 8th and I just got back last night. I didn't have internet access during that time. After I redeposited the MO on June 4th my Bank took it out again on June 8th and sent me this message on the 10th:
"We apologize for our delayed response and for any inconvenience this situation has caused however this item is being returned to PNC Bank by **. ** has refused to pay this item. It has again been returned by them, unpaid. While a *********** would not be NSF, it can be stopped, counterfeit or stolen. Please contact the sender, or **, for more information on this *********** and why it is not being paid."
I'm going to try to Fax you a copy of the MO tomorrow.Comment -

As a fellow American, I appreciate your patriotism. However, ( is Pauly American also? ), blindly sticking up for your country whether right or wrong is not an endearing attribute. I can only wish I had the freedom that a lot of the rest of the world has when it comes to withdrawing! Our over-bloated and increasingly expanding government has destroyed what the founding fathers created. Pull your head out of the sand, and look around with unbiased eyes, and you will see that we truly do not live in "the land of the free" anymore. A true patriot would be ashamed of the way our country has moved away from allowing people to do as they please as long as they don't harm others.
