What? Lakers and Clippers about to get knocked out of the second round. Kings gonna get rocked by NY Rangers....and the Dodgers are overrated.

Yes, I am aware. You missed the narrative of the last week on the forum and espn, talking about LA being on top of the sports world

there were over 100K people downtown watching a bunch of foreigners (and a few Americans) ride around a loop downtown to finish the Amgen tour. That shows what people think of the 'real' sports. But then again standing there watching that is free and trying to watch some of the over rated teams in town cost all outdoors. I dont think the Kings game even sold out today. I know there are about a thousand tix left for the Clippers and Spurs on the various ticket broker sites also.

It was sunny and about 80 today (like it has been all but maybe 5 days since the New Year) people have better things to do than go watch a bunch of overpaid crybabies get rich going through the motions. Once everyone is eliminated and/or the dog days of summer hit sports wont even be on the radar of most people out here.

Damn, LA at it's sports high point, and people just want to be all negative about it. Shows how far LA has dropped.

Shit, enjoy it. Lots of cities out there wish they had the chance to get knocked out in the playoffs every once in awhile.

I'm hoping this nice little run can wake that city up some, and realize that they have well-run organizations in that town that are worth getting behind and supporting.

Lakers have been kicking ass since they got Shaq back in the day so I'll give them that. Anaheim also representing a bit in baseball.

Still sad no NFL team down there.

                'well run".....

Lakers are in a shambles Jim Buss is going to bury them with the way he is trying to run this team.

Dodgers, umm they have new ownership but before this year they were an absolute disgrace to the MLB organization.

CLippers are owned and run my a miserly racist slumlord who just happened to get lucky this time around, he has never ever done a single thing to actually make this team better or try to build off any 'success' they ever had.

Angels are run fairly well but it could be said that Arte Moreno is now pandering to the latino community by trying to make this team resemble a band of Cuban refugees just off the boat, the only white guys he has now are pitchers it seems. Might be coincidence might be by design. But he has traded away a lot of good players to get mediocre latin replacements.

Kings, and Ducks...no one cares about hockey one iota in LA or anywhere south of canada.

I will throw in a few other programs who had their moments...

USC football, cheated like everyone else and got away with it for alittle bit, then coach left after the investigations started and it has been a shambles ever since. Current coash is a whack job who is more than likely going to get this school the death penalty before he wins another rose bowl or any 'important' bowl.

UCLA basketball, Ben Howland, probably the most over rated coach ever next to BIll Parcells, came from Pitt and was supposed to be the savior of a once legendary program. Came in with a bunch of NBA all stars on the roster the former coach recruited and couldnt do shit with them but lose in the finals a couple times, since he has had his own recruits he has done dog shit, hasnt even maybe the thourny I dont think, actually finished below 500 a couple times, something never heard of at UCLA. Has had exposes written in Sports Illustrated about him. Just a disgrace, but he is still there so it makes you wonder what UCLA is thinking.

So really there isnt anything on a 'major' level in LA sports that can be spun anyway positively even from an organizational stand pint. If you want to think the moves are just coincidental then the Angels could be considered a 'model' franchise. But until they start doing something with that massive payroll theyre just another team trying to buy something they already got before Moreno got here.

As the phrase goes............."haters gonna hate".

The thread last week referenced L.A. as "currently" being the sports capital of the nation which was spot on (SBR retards......please look up the meaning of the word "currently"). Lakers and Clippers were getting ready to start round 2 of playoffs...........Kings kicking ass in NHL...........Dodgers owning the best record in MLB.

Dodgers still own the best record in baseball. Kings 1 win from the cup finals.

P.S. Looking forward to USC dominating the college football world this fall.

I have been a Kings fan since 1978 when i was a kid.It is not over yet i know they are one game away but i have been let down for 34 years so untill they win im not getting over excited.3 losses with in 24 hours in the same building i guess after that you can call it the sports capitol of the country.
