Last year was last year
He cost them game 5 with a garbage goal, therefore he is garbage.
Rask is much younger and better than Thomas. He is like Luongo now, to old with a very capable backup. Its just respect that is getting him starts.

clueless. doesnt watch the games and then looks up a few stats and thinks hes a genius. unreal.

Also didn't back-check on the Ference goal. He'll be on the first flight back to Stockholm after the series ends.

Year before last who was the goalie that lost a 3-0 series lead to the flyers? Also a 3-0 goal lead in game 7? Wasn't that Rask?
To make Rask the future goalie he needs to play 65% of the regular season games next year.

Rask is good. But his playoff experience is limited. He's only played in 2 playoff rounds his whole career. So sample size is an issue. Thomas was completely dominant all throughout the playoffs last year.
Regarding this season... Thomas played most of the tougher opponents, while rask generally played the easier teams. Also, when you look at win/loss the stats favor thomas heavily.
thomas: 35-19-1
rask: 11-8-3

Bruins roll. They've outplayed the caps in every game period. Just a few unlucky bounces. Series should never have gone this far. But doesn't matter. Bruins 4-0 Wednesday

Weren't you the guy who made that thread harassing Bills bettors and bragging about your bet after they fell behind 14-0 early, and they came back and won?
If Rask hadn't been out out since March 3rd and just returning to back up duty for game 6 you would have seeing a lot of people calling for him to start yesterday. He has been out though and 2 days off for Thomas so to say he should start is silly talk.

I don't know, if you take away that one massive screw up(which you can't) I think the Caps at least matched the Bruins yesterday.

So what? Most fans dont know anything. That's the same reason they think Tyler Seguin is the Bruins best player. They voted him to win 6th player award over Bergeron and Chara. And they voted him to allstar game over Bergeron. Give me a break.
So what if people are calling to bench him? They are not as smart as the coach. They aren't in the bruins locker room, and probably have never played hockey. These are the same people that were calling to bench thomas last year in the series against montreal just because thomas missed 2 saves. They were saying start rask every game instead of thomas and talking about how Thomas was on a "short leash." What happened? Julien didn't care what a bunch of dumb fans thought, and he started Thomas every game. What happened? Thomas owned the entire playoffs. Just because he missed a goal or two doesn't mean we need to start rask. Despite letting up a soft goal or 2, he also has made some UNBELIEVABLE saves this series that Rask probably wouldn't have made. So it cancels out. You see the diving stick save yesterday that resembled last years save on Downie? In the first half of game 5 Thomas made some dominating saves. Yes he let up 2 soft goals... but if he saved those 2, but didn't make the 5 other spectacular saves, we'd still be down a net of (-3) goals. Thomas is reigning Vezina trophy winner and Conn Smythe trophy winner. He won the stanley cup last year for the bruins. He will start game 7. And it is the right decision. No-question-about-it.

I am not saying I would have been one of them calling for Rask, but Saturday Thomas did not have a good game and the next game was back to back, would not have been crazy to consider putting in Rask(without his being out for so long) for game 6 to change up momentum. Right now, even with a fully healthy/tuned up Rask there is no question Thomas starts game 7.

Thomas gave up soft goal in game 5 yes. but he still made some unbelievable saves before that. go back and watch highlights. 1st half of the game he was magnificent.
Oh and Rich Boy.... in case you haven't heard Thomas won the stanley cup, vezina, and conn smythe last year. He misses 1 save and you're immediately condemning him to a terrible old fool who should be a backup????
Rask was a .500 goalie this year. and he played the easier teams.
