Obama? I have never heard of it until today, maybe somebody is goofing on me or something else. Don't know, if this is for real you would think the very liberal media would have been all over it.

Did you see it? Is it for real? What is going on here?

I must be missing something here. Is this a fake you tube? Did this happen? Nobody replying. If this is for real I thought I would have some explanation from the conservatives. Did this pig actually say this?

I hate Santorum, and don't think anything of this. I also wouldn't think anything of it if Hilary Clinton said it.

He lost his train of thought, obviously. I do it several times a day. I sincerely doubt his intention was to call him a government ******, as GOIRISH pointed out. If you believe otherwise, that's your choice.

Freudian slip? I have my doubts.

He's said "government negative" before and it didn't play right - maybe he caught himself saying it and cut himself off.

Santorum is a lot of things, but I don't think he's someone who tosses around those slurs.

Okay, I always like to give the benefit of the doubt. He wasn't going to say nig... But, it certainly is questionable at the very least.

My guess would be government n***** because I think that there is a segment of the population that has this image of lazy black government workers.

As for the government negative part, negative doesn't make a nig sound. Unless Santorum says government nigative when he speaks.

Don't you know, government worker is a racist dog whistle for a not unsubstantial segment of the population who equate government workers with an image of a lazy black person with acyrilic nails who works at the DMV.

The late Lee Atwater, a Republican strategist had this to say about the racist dog whistle,

"You start out in 1954 by saying, "******, ******, ******." By 1968, you can't say "******" — that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me — because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this," is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "******, ******.""

Now obviously, not everyone who holds views about cutting things is racist, only that those types of things are also coded language for the part of the population that is. Cutting welfare to a certain part of the population means, "cutting off money to those damn black people", same with other cuts that disproportionately affect black people, like federal and state funding for schools(because black people generally don't live in the same area as white people, less state and federal funding means less school funding for black kids who more often live in poorer areas).

I mean hell you can see it in the language that Andywend uses, he finally just came out and went pretty racist recently with advocacy for repeal of the Civil Rights Act.

Obviously he was going to call Obama a Nick-elback fan, but trailed off mid sentence because that was just too far over the line of civility.

That or he realized there was a camera in the room.
