    Why Mike Tomlin should have been 1st Black President of the United States

    1. He is a fukkin winner. Seriously, 48-22 as a HC. Took him 2 years to win the Superbowl. It's been 2 years and Obama can't even get unemployment under 9%.

    2. He says what he means and means what he says. Don't feel I need to expand on that one at all.

    3. If you thought I would mention the whole Birth Certificate thing, I won't.

    4. He defers to people that know more. He kept LeBeau in place as DC and pretty much is hands off. What the fukk did Obama do?



    5. He was awesome in Juice:



    6. He knows what it means to be a leader: “Providing your guys with what they need to be successful in any and all circumstances. It’s just that. It’s not about ideas. It’s not about being on the cutting edge schematically. It’s making sure your guys are in the frame of mind and have the ability to perform and perform at a high level.     7. He doesn't make excuses. A loss is a loss. "The previous administration" never was and never will be in his vocabulary.

    8. He could kick your ass.

    9. He had some damn good mentors, Tony Dungy and John Gruden. I'll let you pick Barry's: Davis, Wright or Aires.

    10. The first quote I ever heard from him, when asked about the pressure of taking over for Cowher or the expectations on his players: "Pressure is putting food on the table for your family. All we do is play a game."

His presumed amazing coaching abilities had nothing to do with those two fluke plays that won the game.

    Tomlin inherited a already good team when Cowher left and a good starting QB. Not hard to be successful when you don't have anything to fix.

    If Wade Phillips was head coach of the Steelers, they'd be in the same place they are now. They are in the Super Bowl because of talented players, not the coaching. Nothing against Tomlin, but I think all head coaches are overrated. They're only as good as the team they coach.

    As someone who has seen every snap of Mike Tomlin's head coaching career, he's average. That impressive won-loss record wasn't compiled by accident, but teams that are very good usually have very good players. There are things I like about him, but Tomlin, or someone, needs to exert more influence into the play-calling, and Pittsburgh's special teams have been sub-par for several years. He's OK, but let's not get carried away.
