I hate it, have been off it way more than i usually am in a day. And why don't it say Players Talk at the bottom of a thread so you can just click that, instead you half to back to the top of the page.

It really did make me want to puke for the first minute. We resist change. Maybe we'll get used to it, but the effect was worse than it normally is for this sort of thing. The spaced-out threads is awful and where is the "my posts" link?

Lots of good feedback as usual. Basically what we did was upgrade about 5 major behind the scenes network components and websites. It's essentially a fresh copy of new stock forum software on new server software (which also required a new mobile) with our build-ons and styles. So now we have to go back and compare with the old site to make sure all the same features are still working properly and add back some of the poster style preferences. By the end of the week the colors of this new forum will be almost the same as the last version. On the plus side, it will be much faster especially with anything that requires heavy database work like searching 7 years of the word "sportsbook".

Keep the feedback coming and bear with us as we spit shine. Now that we have the new platform we can also start lookin at the wishlist that we couldn't attempt on the old system.

if the color was toned down a bit then it wouldn't be so bad on the eyes. I see they already patched up the long post box and tightened it down to what it was prior.

Lou good job - I know how much shit you took today from us posters. Overall very nice effort on this changeover.

We were pretty proud of our simple idea to put the "Players Talk" or whatever forum you're in at the bottom. It will likely be back tomorrow.

Could you please suggest that the column width of posts is shorter?
It's not fun to read post that use nearly the entire width of the screen.

Also, Is there a point to so much space? I am not trying to be a conspiratist,
but does this have to do with increasing the amount of time a user spends on
each page, which is more attractive to potential ad buyers? I know it's a long
shot, but if the goal is to increase functionability, then why make it take longer
to scroll through each thread?

It's actually exactly the same size. The colors might be playing tricks on our eyes. But, if you have Windows 7 for example you can drag any window all the way to the right or left until your cursor hits and it will give you a half size windows. These forums resize to the width of your browsers so if you like to read it more compactly (that a word?) that'll do it. To answer your Q, narrower forums mean more scrolling when reading.

column width definitely feels longer. Narrow columns and forums
might seem like they would take longer to scroll through, but when
extra space and the layout makes it harder to read, then it takes
much longer to get through posts and users stay on pages longer.
I know it's just the conspirator in me, but it's also an industry-known
trick to increase the length of per page visits. This is more true for
sites that are into the numbers game.

I don't think its a good thing to be able to see half the amount of threads on a single page compared to old system.

A 3 word post takes up way to much space,you got to try and tighten everything up on the page,
there is way to much open white space.

Resemebles many other sites layout, EOG being one of them.

Way to bright,especially if you just smoked a joint.

Visually unappealling, my vote goes to the old site.

Hopefully they darken it up and make everything more compact,only 20 posts per page.
