"The 2.7 HH overnight <s>@</s>UFCONFOX earned is +42% better than FOX’s Saturday prime time average the 4 weeks prior (1.9).” thanks UFC fans
I don't really understand it so if someone can explain that would be great. I'm just assuming that Fox had 2.7 % of viewers which is better than the 1.9% the previous 4 Saturday nights?Comment -

#115Nobody wants to watch 2 guys wrestle on the ground, as soon as they get rid of that part of the sport then it will be good to watch. When they show it on fox for free they should only schedule guys who arent grapplers to suck in the sheep so then they will fork over 60 bucks later for a PPV and then they get to watch 2 guys wrestle around and there aint shit they can do cause the moneys spent. At 1 am eastern sat night there was 3 boxing matches on nbc sports (old versus) and that shit was entertaining, boxing will always be king, unless they get rid of grappling in MMA.Comment -

Too many retarded posts in this thread to address them all.
All that needs to be said is that MMA in its current state is viable to grow and become a mainstream sport, and that MMA right now is better than it ever has been in virtually every conceivable way. (Okay, so I want knees on the ground too, but we can't all win!)Comment -

#120Let's just get a triple card main event....(1) Anderson Silva vs. George St. Pierre
(2) Jon Bones Jones vs. Rashad Evans
(3) Alistair Overeem vs. Fedor Emeliorenko
That would be an interesting card.Comment -

#124Not trying to shit on the sport, i just think there is things that could be done to make it huge, i agree with v1y that it is in a position to grow enormously, but back to back shit showings on national TV is not gonna make that happen faster. Little less wrestle, little more fists and feet flying and some knockdowns and for a home run ball some blood, and you got yourselves a serious moneymaker. It also doesnt help to promote the sport when the idiot president calls the fans stupid like white did after the 1st fox premier when the fight lasted a short time.Comment -

#125some of the most exciting fights I have ever seen were between 2 grappling based fighters. Knees on the ground and kicks to a downed opponent should be legal, but what can you do? Rules are there for both fighters to follow, so they have to adapt to the rules to conquer this sport.Comment -

#128Lol at boxing will always be king.... Boxing is like baseball its fan base is old and dying off... mma fan base growing everyday. Guys dont understand the ground because if you did you would enjoy it. If the action gets stale ufc refs are good at stand ups to keep the action going sometimes too fast.Comment -

#129We need soccer kicks, and stomps to the head of a downed opponent. Just like the glory days of pride. I remember Phil Baroni in a classic match against Minowa. Fight ended in a street corner-type, stomping by Baroni. Bushido #7. One of the best fights I have ever seen.Comment -

#135Think of this way for once though... It may have done good. Picture the women that wouldn't let their men watch it or introduce it to their kids and such. Well, being on FOX they could watch it easily. I can see a few of those ladies saying, "that's not as bad as I pictured it to be..." and such.
I had a few people over and 2 were girl friends of guys that came over. They were mildly entertained and asked when the next event was. Can you imagine if it was a blood bath? I don't think FOX would want that either... I honestly thought it was a good start for prime time. Then again, I can sit down and watch a defensive wrestling match with a final score of 3-2 and decided by an overtime.Comment -

In January 2011, it was bigger than it was in January 2010.
In January 2010, it was bigger than it was in January 2009.
In January 2009, it was...you get the picture.
More shows in Brazil, UK, Australia, first show coming up in Sweden; shows in other countries, expanding nationwide, growing on network television--- you're right, there is absolutely no reason to believe that it will continue to get bigger. You are a silly, silly person.Comment
