My post was mostly serious.

When my daughter was 4 or 5, on one of the rare occasions that her bitchy mother let me see her, I took her to a shopping mall. She went up to a black man and said "you're black". I'm thinking "wtf, where is this going...why did she say that and what will she say next." She was a talkative little kid. The guy handled it like a pro, said that yes he is black. Asked her what her name is, and they had a friendly one minute conversation. Nice guy.

My daughter lived in an area that was almost exclusively white, there weren't attempts to keep non-whites away, it's just the way it was. She hadn't been around many non-white people. So a black person was an anomaly to her at that time, something that piqued her curiosity.

I remember walking around some hoods near the UC one time before a Hawks game. As I walked past a residential building, a 10 year old black kid yelled out "HEY WHITE BOY!" His parents were right next to him on the porch. As I continued down the block, I could still hear "HEY WHITE BOY!" over and over again. I didn't respond and began to feel uncomfortable. Then as I made my way to the McDonald's, I was the only white guy in there. I overheard black people pronounce it MackDonalds. Has anyone else heard it pronounced Mackdonalds as opposed to MickDonalds? That was my limited experiences around the UC.

went to a few games back in the Jordan era, with a friend that lived in Chicago. and he would pay little hood rats to watch his car and keep it from being stolen or vandalized. do they still do that?
