You can do a ton of good things but if you turn around and murder someone it doesn't mean you're a good person.
Knowing what he did and doing knowing easily erases any good thing he did. If someone is a great citizen for 40 years and then kills somebody, they still goto jail. They don't get a pass because they did some good things in the past.
Paterno shouldn't get a pass either.
