right now other than the atlantic and central, no division has more than one team with a higher goals scored vs goals allowed!!

this is crazy

northwest and pacific divisions are pretty much wrapped up already, vancouver up by 8 points and the sharks up by 2 with 4 less games played

i don't think i've ever seen this before where 4 of the 6 divisions only have one team that has scored more goals than they've allowed

theres still almost 3 months to go. dallas will probably stay where they are and yes anaheim is horrible. but the kings and phoenix arent out of it in the least and always make late season pushes.

ill agree the northwest looks bleak for anyone else considering how bad edm and cgy are and the fact that minnesota faded so bad. colorados still fighting strong tho. but luongo isnt having his best season and they still have to play the avs 4 more times.

its so hard to make up spots in the nhl.....only 3 teams not in the top 8 after thanksgiving have made it to the playoffs since this point system....I think its been 7 years.

Rangers -275 Flyers +275 Penguins +1400 (<--could be a steal if they get healthy)

Bruins -5000 Ottawa +1800

idk with all the games in hand and talent on that team (even tho the last few years theyve underachieved) sharks are probably still the right play. i just really like what the kings are doing and how theyve come about the last 2 years and who knows maybe coyotes/stars go on a run

the only trouble spot i see there is philly only b/c pens are coming on and rangers are right there. also seems like a lot of juice on capitals but i guess they always have a good 2nd half of the season every year and that division is weak.

The swings can be huge and very profitable if you have patience.

i think 18-12-5 would be on the low end of sharks record the rest of the way, the kings would still have to go something crazy like 20-8-4 just to beat them.

granted they play twice more in la so it's possible but i think reasonable odds of the kings winning the division should be around 10-12%
