If it is a low graded book or a book that is known to cancel wagers or whatever. This would be a great idea to practice. Try to cover your azz as much as possible.

Something better would to be to take a screenshot of the confirmation page. This way you have a image of the ticket.

I don't, but back when I made my first couple wagers I did.

If a book whats to screw you, they can. It always can come down to your word vs. theirs. Even if you write down a transaction number, what is stopping them from just deleting it and playing stupid.

It's a good question. My simple answer is, I do nothing with those transaction numbers.

        I guess I probably should but I don't.

There have been no consequences. I have been averaging over 400 bets a month for over 3.5 years and there has never been a problem relating to me not having a transaction number.

But still, I record every play on a spreadsheet. It wouldn't kill me to type in those ref #'s. Lame of me not to.

          I don't for sure....

When I first started I took them down and realized it was a waste of time. I mostly play with credible books so I have no problems. In fact, what I usually do is check my pending wagers to make sure it went through.

There are a few books that send you email confirmations of the wagers, Easybets and some from the VIP group. I actually save those emails. Other than that I do save a few snapshots of pending wagers on large wagers.

I just go into the back office, accounts section of the respective sportsbook (every time) to check my bet has been registered there. The only exception to this is Royal Sports (SBR D) whose software doesn't seem to immediately catch wagers, so with them I (always) copy and paste onto a notepad...just in case.

I used to when I first started, but don't write them down anymore.
