Really? It may go up but I wouldn't hold it long term.

I think Apple is a good choice but not a monster. Dividends (I'm guessing 3-4%) on a $400 stock with only 1B shares would be ridiculous...the payout ratio would be too high and their 80B in cash would dry up fast. Maybe they'll split the stock, but who knows.

The next thing they could do with their 80B would be to buy a big company like Sony...but if you look at Apple's buyout history, they go for relatively small companies. But imagine how kickass an Apple Playstation 4 would be!

I don't know exact figures, but the iphone 4S launch was disappointing.

Until Apple buys out Sony, Microsoft, Intel, or merges with Oracle or Google, I think it will just be a slight outperform over the S&P.

Lol Google would never merge with APple or vice versa.Google is taking share from apple with 700,000 Androids coming online per day which is scary.Intel already does business with Apple I say they come out with a 1% dividend or a one time special dividend .Even if they did that they would still be earning 20 billion in free cash flow YOY.

What would the market cap be if it went to $858?

There is more downside risk than meets the eye with Apple, IMHO. It looks almost certain that they are venturing into TVs which needs huge investment not just in terms of delivering the hardware but in terms of content. It is a highly competitive market and not one that is likely to lend itself to premium pricing.

Ipads and Iphones will continue to sell well but that is already fully priced in.
