How often have you reminisced about that impossible comeback win as if you played in the game? How much money have you emptied out of your pocket on tickets, DirectTV packages, bets, jerseys, hats, trading cards, autographs and overpriced beers over the course of your lifetime?

What if all of that time, emotion, and money has been wasted on a lie? What if the action on the field isn’t what it appears to be? What if you, and millions others like you, have been duped – outright lied to – by those franchises you hold so dear to your heart, all in the name of making an easy buck?

Well, my friend, it has happened. And although your name might not be “Mark”, you have certainly become one to those running the carnival known as professional sports.

When a win seems too good to be true – it is. When an impossible turn of events changes the course of a game – it is. When the story of an improbable underdog rises to the top like some sort of Hollywood screenplay – it is.

The leagues, hand-in-hand with the TV networks which pour billions of dollars into professional sports, have fixed their own games to squeeze every ounce of drama they can out of each season and to ensure you remain committed to their sport and glued to your TV.

lets review the evidence that people have provided in this thread that sports are rigged shall we?

exhibit a)tim donaghy, as much proponents of the rigged games conspiracy theory love bringing this guy up, it does not help their case. tim donaghy proves exactly the opposite of what you are saying, it proves that only a handful of games are rigged (we cant have close games anymore every game that ends with a close score will always have someone that bet on the wrong side scream fix, when the game is close one team has to fuk up for the other to win, its not a fix get over it). It proves that when game are fixed people get caught. The donaghy case made rules and regulations stricter and tighter oversight and it is harder now to rig games with everyone watching.


exhibit b) the nhl game were the puck sharply changed direction while heading to the goal. people that use this as evidence of a fix obviously cheated natural selection and inexplicably managed to survive. What is a more logical explanation, that the puck changed direction due to ice shavings? or that someone changed the direction of the puck using a remote control device? that is not even physically possible, not unless the puck had wheels.

exhibit c) the yankees winning by one to kill underdog and runline bettors. do you realize that in every yankees game the yankees are a huge favorite? do you realize that in every yankees game the money is on the yankees runline and the underdog? do you realize that one run wins are statistically the most common result in baseball? do you realize that for any baseball team to win that someone has to drop a ball or make any sort of mistake? in fact in all sports for a team to win they must get a forced or unforced error from the other team

exhibit d) every other game were people scream fix, when games are fixed they cover comfortably, people coming in here screaming about the fix coming in on a dropped ball, a dropped pass, a last minute shot or a last minute call just sound ridiculous

Sports are scripted? Is that why its the same teams that win year after year after year after year after year? So it benefits sports that yankees win it in baseball every year? Most definitely. People can argue the how and why but it does seem like most are in agreement Pac man didn't deserve the victory in his last bout.
