Has Gamblers Anonymous touched your life?
I have a very close friend who goes. We met in AA - and she has been clean and sober for 15-20 years - but, like many addicts, her compulsive personality branched into other behaviors and she recently decided her gambling was enough of a problem to seek help.

She likes GA and finds it helps. She doesn't go along with everything they say though. Like they preach that you should abstain completely and not even buy lottery tickets. She likes her lottery tickets. She understands how, as an alcoholic, she can't even have a sip of alcohol but doesn't think lottery tickets are the same thing as relates to gambling.

Last time I went out with her she wanted me to split a bunch of tickets with her. I was like, "DUDE! If all those people with all that experience say it's a bad idea, then I'm going along with them. Do what you want but I'm out."

She's a close friend though and if anyone ever has any specific questions, either here or by PM, I'll try to get some answers.

Anyone else been touched by GA?

Not being afflicted like that, I can't really comment on it. But I would have thought that buying a single lottery ticket each week wouldn't always be too bad on the assumption that you've got jack all chance of winning and you keep your "fix" to a minimum level - some people might be able to cope with that, although others no doubt wouldn't.

But when you buy a bunch of tickets expecting to hit the jackpot then that's when you still have a problem.

LOL at a girl betting on sports or is she just betting on the Academy Awards and exotics like that?

What a catch though, a girl in her 40's who is an alcoholic and gambles. Not that there is anything wrong with gambling. but i can't see a girl get overly involved in it. I bet she smokes a pack a day too.

Just take your blowjob and walk away from this one. Make it clear after that that every now and then you can hook up with her, but overall she would interfere with your goals.
