Best EA Sports video game?

Non-gamer here - need some advice for a Xmas gift. What is the best of the EA Sports video games? Top 3 seem to be NCAA FB, Madden FB, and Tiger Golf. Advice from the experienced players would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Ncaa FB was always my favorite. Always liked the gameplay more than Madden. Being able to run the option is the best thing available in sports games.

Tiger is fun as well though.


Can't really go wrong with either of the 2. I have madden also, but don't ever play it unless some friends come over, don't like to play it online or against computer

Madden and NCAAFB are very similar. If you are just getting started, I'd go with one (and I'd say Madden). You should also check out the NHL game and FIFA (and I am American). The games are great and very playable.

Fifa and nhl are probably the best EA games if you are interested in either of those sports.

Don't limit yourself to just EA Sports games. For EA go with Madden 12 for NFL.

For soccer go with Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2011 or 2012 ....trust me it's better than FIFA.

For NBA basketball hands down 2KSports makes the best game....NBA2K12.

I'm a Fan of Tiger Woods and NHL, which is funny because I don't even like hockey. Both very solid games though.

It had never been done that way before, extra course's was alway available to buy but had nothing to do with the season. You can still play the season without course's but I thought it was bullcrap.

Yeah, one of my friends went and rented Battlefield to try it out, got home and needed a code to play online. He took it back and has no desire to buy the game before trying it out.

I bought NHL '11 after being gifted a PS3. The last hockey game that I played was on the original SEGA. Required some serious time investment to play the game as it's meant to be played (there's options that simplify it...but I wanted the full effect). By the time I've gotten the hang of it and can hold my own online, '12 rolls out and they stop supporting it. It's a great game...game developers seem to have done a better job with Hockey and Baseball than Football. I also purchased NBA 2k11, which is pretty impressive too. Long story short, if you have been out of the video game loop like me and don't have a lot of spare time to catch up, your system and games are going to just collect dust.

Still like the original better. So many glitch plays, like the slant patterns that could never be stopped with the Dolphins or 49ers, lol. Got to a point where you would play with shitty teams and try to kick FGs with my eyes closed to make it somewhat competitive.

art, these days there is no denying that NHL is the best made sports game out there. NHL 12 is a winner for sure. just picked up a copy for my 12 year old brother for xmas

NHL is partially responsible for me taking 5 years to get through college.
