SD has a good defense? that's gotta be a joke

Raiders +7 sounds like a good idea. Considering how both teams played last week it looks to be a close one. As long as they both show up. Also they are playing on a short week so the under sounds good as well.

Tough game. Would probably bet the over, but number is a couple points too high for my liking. Seems like a sharp number. I guess this is the NFL
Both these teams allow points consistently and Rivers should play well.

Last year every thursday game hit the over except four. The four that went under were (winners in caps): BEARS vs dolphins, 49ers vs CHARGERS, STEELERS vs Panthers, and JETS vs Bengals. Respectively the losing teams in each of those games offense finished ranked: 21st, 24th, 32nd, and 20th. Respectively in those games the winning teams' defense finished ranked: 9th, 1st, 3rd, and 2nd.

It is more tiring playing defense than offense, you have to do more. Short weeks favor offenses because they continue to play their same playbook while the defense they are facing doesn't have as much time to prepare and rest up. Perfect weather for the offense too.

Right now: San Diego 8th in total offense (11th in scoring) vs Oakland 26th in total defense (30th in scoring)
Oakland 10th in total offense (17th in scoring) vs San Diego 6th in total defense (27th in scoring)

Most teams would have given up 30+ to the Broncos last week. Offenses never play the option in the NFL, so no defense would have been prepared for it and would have been caught by surprise. There was no tape on the Broncos offense for last week either.

If you remember, in 2008 the Dolphins unleashed the Wildcat for the first time and torched the Patriots 38-13.

This is a shit game to bet on.
Oakland gets pounded by KC and Denver at home, McFadden is OUT again. Palmer has looked pretty bad, and the D is awful last two.
But will Palmer start to get with the program and get in sync with his receivers?
And Oakland seems to surprise on the road the last 2 yrs... right when you give up on them, they win straight up on the road.
SD played GB and made it close... but was the game really 7 points, or did GB play out the clock and let SD sneak in and look better?
Is something wrong with Rivers, lots of speculation. Will RB Matthews play, and if so, will he be 100%? WR Floyd is out. Gates is perpetually limping. SD always seems to disappoint, though they seem to be the better team at this point.
No big pressure for either team, they are both 4-4 tied for AFCW, sure a win is optimal but plenty of games to recover.
Thursday night short week road game not such and issue, SD is right down the road from Oakland... easy commute.
I cannot even lean to one side... lay 7 with SD? Take Oakland + 7 after shellacking from two teams with no O, Denver and KC????
I am looking for an angle...

SD doesn't blow out teams. they play up or down to the competition. A must win divisional game for both; more I look at it may just play it by halves.

I have SD-7. I wouldn't say I'm in my right mind, though, unless it hits. I'm not a big fan of Carson Palmer, and San Diego has been playing good enough to be in contention for the win against some good teams recently (although Kansas City isn't 'good,' they're always pretty tough at home especially against division rivals). Oakland looks like they've got their head up their azz, getting pummeled at home against Denver. I wouldn't be surprised if SD came out on a mission and won by 21+.

Wish I had the balls to take Oakland outright. Hedged with over, finished up $60 on the night. Can't complain when you make money. Missed field goal killed my tease.
