Going to wharton is not a big deal...they have the largest intake of bussiness grads in the nation. I know tons of friends who went to wharton. The real difficult bussiness schools to get in are harvard and stanford.Comment -

wharton is one of the top business schools in the world and has been for a while.
the average graduate from wharton makes more per year than the average graduate from harvard business and the average salary increase after getting an MBA from wharton is higher than the average salary increase percentage after an individual gets an MBA from stanford business.

Those statistics are skewed because of all the finance grads that were raking in tons of money in wall street until the 2008 collapse. Ask them to get the statistics for years 2009-2011.
Also, my point was the DIFFICULTY in getting into Wharton....its much easier compared to harvard and stanford.
When I applied to grad schools (not bussiness per say)...I got offers from cornell, columbia and UPenn...but not from harvard or stanford. The admissions are much easier at UPenn overall...they aren't that selective. Just go look at the class sizes of harvard, stanford and wharton...you will know what I am talking about.Comment -

There is very little statistical selectivity among the top 5-10 schools. In fact, you can make a case that Cal-Berkeley is more selective than Harvard.
From a hiring standpoint, graduates, do just as well as those of Harvard or Stanford. However, the same can be said of any of the top 5-7 MBA programs----MIT and Cal-Berkeley grads do exceptionally well.
This is a rank order list, and the % selection rate for the top 9 MBA programs for 2010, as you can see there is very little difference between Harvard and Wharton.
