Onlooker when you were running things around here this would never happen. People don't understand what you did for SBR and the force you are in this industry... You are second to none as far as a mod went... I am glad you have moved on to bigger and better things... You are missed... You and BBD held this place down!

Disabling the lists helps keep the board clean and removes users from spammers crosshairs. For some reason, Viagra sellers seem to think our members are in need of some "extra" help. In all seriousness, to avoid making PMs PRO-only the lists had to be chucked.

Lol more double talk from Sbr if you ask me. I never got no PM spam here just one bad PM from a poker scammer and Mr Sbr Lou banned me instead of the scammer.

You might want to do a search for the thread 2 days ago where several posters were hit with a phishing attempt via PM before you judge what Lou's said in this thread.

Shari 91 maybe Sbr might want to take extra steps that they could to keep the spammers from signing up to begin with and Sbr posters might want to have better spyware and virus protection.

I was never sent anything, but Lou did send a message about SBR never asking for passwords. So I would assume something like that did happen or Lou wouldn't have sent the mass message to everybody for no reason.

If you've never received a spam PM, then you should consider yourself lucky because I can pull up many threads where posters are reporting spam in their inbox. And this is exactly why Lou sent the PM out the other day to every member providing tips on how to make their forum experience as safe as possible. SBR does everything possible to keep its posters secure. This is one more step to doing so.

No, no one was excluded intentionally. It was a mass mailout but it's always possible that the system didn't pick up every member. I'll forward you the PM in a moment once I dig it up.

I got this as well.

I never have gotten a spam PM since being here on SBR. That is over 6 years.

Hell I never got the PM's about free stuff that Cynthia was sending out to SBRpro's a month or so ago.
