Still Bow season down here for Whitetail and I'm not much into this part of season anymore. Do need to go check some food plots either this afternoon or early tomorrow though.

Nothing like smoking a hind quarter overnight and sitting around the table with a cold beer and some tender meat the next day.

Use to go to a deer camp with the guys but last few years just hunt on some leased land and cookout at the house. Good times!

Bigday, I gotta ask, do you see many small munsterlanders in ND? Had a large munsterlander and she was a great dog, descent hunter, but I gifted her to my dad. I have a lab, who does what labs do and am now wanting to get an upland bird dog. Really like brittanies, but am also interested in small musterlanders. In Utah, we have everything here...I really enjoy upland bird hunting..interested in your thoughts. thanks.

Wow! You know your dogs!

Great German dog! Actually looked at one myself. I went the short hair route with the Wiems. Wiems also love the water and retrieve great in the water as well as upland. Very similar to the Musterlander in that it is hard to find a breed that points upland, yet crashes in after ducks and geese when they're downed.

I also looked and like the wired hair Griffin. Points upland and a very tough hunter. The Wiems are tough and have all the drive in the world, but you have to keep an eye on their coat as they will tear themselves up for those birds.

I've gotten lucky to get my moose license twice in the lottery in Maine...but not for a few years. In those two years, never bagged one though. Had my chance in 2003 but missed the shot
