Someone told me the Top-10 teams in college football are covering at 77% clip
And were perfect vs. the spread this past week.
Is that true, or is my buddy blowing smoke?

No, that's probably pretty accurate. High ranked favs have been shitting on the competition so far this season.

Alabama is I think 5-1 in covering spreads now. Only time they didn't cover was to North Texas and it was only by a couple of points. Been on Michigan, Notre Dame, and Alabama all season long. Has won me a boat load of money, line makers will catch up eventually so i better enjoy it now.

In college sports, there is usually a large difference between elite teams and average teams. It's unlike pro sports when anybody can win on any given day.
I think that's the reason I kick ass at college football and get dominated when I bet the NFL.
People think they are being sharp by taking dogs in college football but in reality, crappy teams may get scored on every possession.
When a good college offense plays and average college defense, they usually score about everytime they touch the ball.
I've made most of my money this year betting OU, OSU, and LSU. Teams are just inferior and can't stop them. Most college teams aren't deep enough to cover 4 and 5 WR sets with great athletes.

That's how you wind up in the top 10. By outplaying expectations.

Yeah, because Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Stanford, and Boise State didn't have expectations coming into the year.........
Get real. All of these teams were supposed to be good coming into the year. They're really not outplaying expectations at all. They're playing like they're supposed to.

OK, so I ask you this: why don't the books adjust? For instance, LSU was what like -13 or -14 at home against Florida this past week vs. a freshman quarterback? Just an asinine number. It was so off I got spooked and passed; thought someone knew something that I didn't.

No, they're outplaying expectations.

The point is, I'd expect the top 10 at any given point to have covered a large percentage of their games to that point. Go back to past years and you'll see what I mean. Not 77% necessarily, but over 60% certainly.

what do you expect when a team like Oregon is only laying 14.5 against a shit road team in arizona state this week? Vegas has only themselves to blame

texas was the only team in the top 12 I believe that didn't cover.
The entire season as been a squares dream. I am surprised I am up money this season (as I try to bet against the easy money) but somehow I have managed to stay up units.
One problem is I have really noticed there havent been a lot of great match ups this year....
only been 1 or 2 exciting match ups each weeks so far. that may be due to a lack of party I guess.

Here's a case in point. That line should be 17 minimum.

Yep, if I was bookmaking I would put that line closer to 20. Just seems really dumb from a bookmaking perspective.

I have several inside connections inside books and the only 4 teams with heavy one sided action that didnt cover are, G-Tech, Nebraska, Texas AM & Florida State. Basically they said they got crushed this has been the worst football season for profit to-date.

bama/lsu has destroyed competition lately. It will all change soon, they will adjust and people will get tanked, same as last season

I could have sworn on the Van Pelt show it wasn't just top 10 teams he was talking about, it was all favorites and it included the NFL or was exclusive to the NFL.

So you are saying sharps only play dogs? I've got destroyed this year myself but it's just idiotic to say that just because all the favs cover that "squares" are loving it. No one on this forum is a " sharp". Square or sharp doesn't matter. All that matters is profit
