#5Sorry durito, as I'm sure you saw my computer was ko'd and I finally got the chance to check this thread out now.
I quickly re-read the two threads involving Grumperz again. I actually wish I'd started working here 2 weeks before I did because I would've had no problem posting this same thing in that thread started by trixtrix if I had been. I know Admin doesn't have time to jump into every thread and rehash the same issues over and over again but I would've put it on the first page. Maybe then people wouldn't have went off on irrelevant tangents about correlated if bets. The policy is simple and is even listed at the bottom of each forum page in our FAQ's: "Posters that share the same household may not both receive SBR points. The second account will have loyalty points withheld. If this rule is violated, or if SBR determines that one user is controlling multiple accounts, SBR reserves the right to remove points from all accounts. In addition, offenders are subject to loss of their SBR posting accounts at SBR's discretion."
So essentially, Grumperz wasn't getting his points even if he bet straight spreads all the way through to earn them unless he could provide evidence that two people were operating those accounts. He didn't. I saw your question about whether or not evidence was shown at the Bash. I'm not sure if it was as I wasn't there obviously but I'm 99% sure that the evidence would've been what I'm about to post, probably with screen shots. I'm not going to provide snaps though because since I'm not an Admin, I'm not willing to take the chance of getting my ass kicked over a year old issue because I've publicly shown aspects of our fraud detection system. You'll just have to take my word for it. Or not.
Here's what I can see: The nasdog account was created 3/5/10. On 3/17/10, a fraud alert came up indicating that those two accounts were associated. For whatever reason - I'm assuming it was simply buried amongst the hundreds of other fraud alerts we get a day - it wasn't actioned. The nasdog account doesn't log in again until 6/5/10 and on that day he receives almost 4k points from Grumperz to head to the sportsbook but unless a Mod/Admin would've by fluke saw those transfers and then searched their names, they wouldn't get caught until someone performed a search. That's why they managed to get away with it for 2 weeks until they were finally shut down.Comment -

#6SBR can be blamed for BetPhx shilling, no doubt.
But i don't think they could have forseen Wsex? It was downgraded rather fast iirc, when people still had faith in them.Comment -

#8Yes. His post at Peeps in the thread about this issue:
"fwiw I am also B00T on 2p2. I know on SBR I was a nobody with tens of posts, but I have a reputation there at least, so hopefully that can lend to some of my credibility."
He also talked on 2+2 a few years ago about how he used to go by the Grumperz name. Guess he decided to resurrect it here.Comment -

#11Durito, there 100% is. And thankfully our system is slightly more advanced than relying on a simple IP match. I have no reason to bullshit about a year old, dead issue that didn't even involve me. In fact, I could've simply just not answered your question and pretended I never saw it. PM John, Lou or Bill and ask them to show you privately what they were going to show at the bash. If I knew I wouldn't cop it for showing screenshots, I'd send you them myself.Comment -

#12They wont show it. They dont have anything. They are separate people with separate sportsbook accounts. This can be proven but sbr had no intetest in receiving this info.
There is a reason justin
wasnt allowed to moderate this dispute. I cant see how you can read that thread and not come to the conclusion that the player was stolen from. Its d- rated book behavior. An a book would have paid.Comment -

#14I can't speak to this case, but I did comment in another thread the following: I am a member of a private forum and a guy who is in that forum said he was banned and points confiscated and was never told why. He emailed many times and never received a response. To be honest, I really didn't believe him. I think I am abt to apologize to him.
The part I don't get is this. Scammers should be booted, but if I had the goods on someone, I would be more than happy to email the proof to them. Not doing it makes it look like you think, maybe, possibly you found someone doing something wrong.Comment -

katstale... feel free to PM me the details of the individual you're talking about. I'll see what I can find and get back to you. Keep in mind though it's 9am here, I've been up all night trying to get a new computer sorted and have 30 people coming over soon for a bbq so if I don't get back to for a couple of hours, please bear with me.Comment -
