Its actually about 4.5 yards a carry (there was 336 yards on 70 plus plays) and when u consider the 1 yard a carry average, 50 percent completion rate and 3-16 3rd down conversion rate... that's bad efficiency

If osu played a good offensive game, they would have won by 21

that is 4.8 yards per play - not 4.5

I watched the game. They ran the screen very efficiently. the fact that they only had to have 16 3rd downs in 72 plays is also VERY efficient. That means basically they ran four and a half plays for EVERY time they had a 3rd down.

In other words, they were getting a lot of first downs on first and second down and didnt need third down....

The reason I say that, is when they played Idaho last year -35, Idaho was driving down ready to score with a 2 minutes left and this would have covered the spread for them. Chris Peterson put in his starters to shut them down, hence they covered. I think a lot of coaches use the spread as a barometer and try to cover those points to appease the voters.[/COLOR]

The only reason they played a close game against OSU is because OSU is a massively overrated squad right now with terrell pryor going to the NFL plus all their other suspensions. Toledo punted the ball 7 times in that game, 7 times!! and OSU could barely manage 27 points. If they punt the ball 7 times against boise, they're gonna score probably on 5 of those and score 35-42+ points overall in this game



this is a very similar matchup with a lot of the same players as boise/toledo last year...and Toledo got smashed by 43 points in boise, I know homefield advantage is important in football but you can't tell me it's gonna make a 24 point difference. Toledo is a very one sided team on offense and it's just impossible to beat Boise being one dimensional (their defensive line will swallow the QB and their secondary is still excellent)

look at boise's matchups over the years, they're actually very consistent in terms of how they play certain teams year to year



for example, they always blowout Idaho and Hawaii but struggle against Nevada



I place more stock in Boise's previous matchups with teams they are playing than any other team because of the above reason. Also keep in mind these are a lot of the same players in both teams
