It was the Lokomotiv team of the KHL. One of their officials said their entire main roster plus 4 from the youth team were on board.

Polish President and now world class hockey team. You would think the elite would "avoid" this kind of incident. Certainly it shouldn't happen with such regularity. Ofc it's even worse in various CIS countries which have 0 airlines authorized to even fly into the EU for example.

Now being reported that the player passed away in surgery. Not sure if the crew member survived or not, but it appears every player passed away.

Skrastins played for my Stars last year. Guy was getting a little age on him, but was still a dependable defenseman.
