Ravens -2.5 -110
Super Bowl loser 1-9 ATS in week 1 last 10 seasons
Ravens season on the line to win that in possibly their last year to really contend. They don't make playoffs if they lose that. They cannot lose 2 years in a row at home to Steelers that costs them Division
a similar situation from last year was Colts/Texans. Basically a must win for Texans and they delivered a 10 point win against Super Bowl loser Colts.
though I suppose the -2.5 instead of -3 says it's a trap right?

Revenge factor. They lost an OT game there last year.

this is the one im eyeing. my only concern is that the ml on pits has dropped a good chunk. i truly believe this is the most clear cut play of the week on the spread.

I was leaning on BAL as well but the line dropped to 2.5 which is not usually a good sign.

I don't love any NFL Week 1 plays.
I think the best values are Saints ML at +180 and Steelers ML at +125

All the lines are beat up now, have to play ml's for most of them unless you like the dogs Miami +7, Carolina +7, etc.
Gotta way till the end for the late moves.
Pit/Bal, not sure if I feel like flipping a coin, usually go with the steelers, wished more people liked baltimore. Pit +3 if I had to play.
Tampa Bay, don't like them as much as I did earlier, will wait on the final line.
Green Bay ML, on principle alone.
Chicago +3,ml, still playable unless it hits 3.5
San Fran wins in this spot, cover is debatable.
San Diego, throw them in a teaser/ml parlay, no other option here right now, although I like minny over for the rest of the season.
Jets ml, only play here, unless we see 2.5 which is highly imaginable.
Patriots in a teaser/ml spot, you can't go against a huge move like that. +7 at home is just begging for money.
Denver ml now unless you got -1 early. Gotta watch this line late though.
Clev/Ariz might as well throw them together if you know what I mean.

Where are you getting that line? Lions aren't getting more than 2 anywhere I've seen.
BTW, since you called me a square last week I'd be happy to return the favor and say the Lions are one of the biggest square picks of Week 1. I'd take Tampa and lay the 1.5 points that seems standard. If you could get the Lions at +3 (you can't) that would be a decent play.

Green Bay ML is one of the worst bets on the board. Please don't lay -200 against the Saints in Week 1. The Saints can win this game 4 out of 10 times. Way more value on Saints ML.

Leaning Titans +3 and ML.
Jags just released Garrard and are starting...gulp...Luke McCown.
Titans are 6-3 last 9 played in Jacksonville.

84% on PITT and 95%+ ML to explain the drop
BALT could close -3 -110 and youd look back on the -2.5 -110 and kick yourself. I'd think the chances are greater it moves back to -2.5 -120 or -3 rather than down.
Fact remains that -2.5 -110 for the home team in this Rivalry is about as good a line as you'll get

I agree. They have a legit chance to even with SU.
But than again. The Philly "Dream Team" couldn't possibly lose Week 1..could they?

Great question I think people on KC just got some free value on the line drop. Arrowhead is one of the toughest stadiums in the league and it's the opener! I'm not as down on KC as everyone seems to be this year. I like some of their weapons and they have some elite up and coming play-makers on defense.
