Big deal, it's only five yard. It will not be a factor once winter starts.

I don't mind fewer kickoff returns. Takes away uncertainty. So adds to certainty. Which is good for gamblers. Who cares if it's less spectacular?

Some white kid from an Ivy League school who's not even gonna make the team decided to run one out against the 4th string coverage team and scored a TD...big deal. We shall see how this affects the game when teams are actually putting quality players on the field and trying, hell in preseason they didnt even attempt directional kickin or kicking it high, no "secrets" are given out during preseason its just a practice scrimmage thats why betting on it is such a joke

Tryin to figure out whether some 4th string receiver thats about to be cut from the team and is probably the coaches son is gonna make a play or not against a 4 strength defender that should be playing high school ball is not a good way to make money

Yes. You have to remember that most of the posters here are around 18 and think sports started around 1995. They used to kick off from the 35, it was changed in 94 to the 30, and now moved up again to the 35.

It will definitely add new strategy to the game. Late game kickoff heroics may be tough to come by. On the flip side, I gaurantee there will be plenty of unadjusted special teams guys who mistakingly overrun the return man though, and we'll see more big returns then some think.

But the world record for 100m dash dropped from 9.85 sec in 1994 to 9.58 sec now.. meaning that today's athletes are faster to pre 1994 and is not actually going to have the same effects it had in 1994.
