#10that's gotta be crazy. i mean he's gotta know he's on the block, but to just get yanked off the field? that's gotta suck a little bit, even though you're auto going worst to first.Comment -

#13i can't understand why the braves won't trade minor. all the stuff i read about him is that he is a number 4 starter, maybe number 3. they have so much depth at pitching it seems weird.Comment -

#16i don't think texas will get bell unless san diego come down on their price. they want profar or martin perez.
no one is going to trade top prospects for a guy that is going to pitch 20 innings. bell isn't even worth a full win to texas for the rest of the year.Comment -

#18I'm a diehard Astro fan, and I understand why we had to do it. It still doesn't make it feel any better, though. Philly just got a great kid with a big heart. He'll be a fan favorite there for years to come.Comment -

#19Only thing I can imagine in their line of thinking is an injury late in the season.......which is typical with ATL both rotation and lineup. Huddy for example with his history/age.Comment -

I know it's a HARD time for ya'll. My brother in law is born and raised there in Houston and lives and dies with the local teams.....we were at the Stros and Red Sox game over the 4 of July weekend during that sad sad series....more Boston fans than Astros and the PA system was blasting "sweet caroline" like it was a home game for Boston...should have seen the faces in the crowd.....brutal.Comment -

#26yeah i was a pence fan too. i don't get emotional toward specific players with my fandom . he is an slightly above average player who will hit around 20 HR and bat around .280 - .290. his trade value now is as high as it will ever be, and the astros aren't going to win while he is under his current contract. i just hope the astros talent evaluators know what they are getting in the trade and how well those guys are going to project in the future.Comment -

#28Disagree here. Pence is already maxed out on potential IMO at 28. He's a great guy and solid professional, but for a team void of talent and aspiration right now ... this was a GOOD MOVE and they actually got good return. They got Philly's top pitching and hitting prospect. Much better haul than the last time Wade got fleeced by the Phils in the Lidge deal. At this point, the Astros need young guys who are going to develop together. They have shit in their farm system and in the majors, so this is a small step in the right direction and Wade is obviously trying to save his job.Comment -

That's tough. Im still pissed off at my Braves trading Francoeur before.. Even worse is the Colby Rasmus situation....I've done some business with his dad and know Colby from the gym in the off season where we are.....he's been trying for 2 years to get with the Braves but no luck....he's all over the place as far as is play on the field but the kid's awesome to talk to and I'd love to see him in Atl.

i looked it up. he had one good year in philly. trading for relievers is silly unless you give up nothing.Comment
