Colby may help them get there this season but Jays fans will grow to hate him over time.

Good trade for St. Louis in the short term. They fill a starters spot and improve the bullpen, while Jon Jay is currently a better hitter than Rasmus.

Good trade for Toronto in the long term. They receive Rasmus, who has a lot of upside and potential, without giving up much. Zach Stewart has some potential, but probably only as a 4th or 5th starter max. Bullpen guys are always replaceable, so no big loss there either.

This trade gets Chicago a prospect in Stewart and a decent reliever in Frasor, plus some salary relief with the Jays taking on the contract of Teahen. I think Chicago is worse overall today though, then they were yesterday.

He was the best reliever we had for a good 3 years. Great run for a guy who's just a situational lefty. This year he's off. He's old, so not sure if you can get him back to form, but man was he great for us until this season.

Also Mark Rzepchinski is solid.

Rasmus very well may end up being a bust, but the jays didnt give up shit for him, ryzcepski is a gascan, everytime he would come in, he would blow it, duncan may be able to help him, but he is nothing special. Average stuff at best, and dotel is a journeyman. If rasmus can put up half decent numbers, I say very good trade for toronto. AA knows what he is doing, I doubt he overpays him if he does well initially. He almost didnt pay bautista and even then signed him to a steal of a contract, hes not an idiot.

i hate to agree... Rasmus did hit 23 homers and 12 stolen bases. The guy will be a 20-20 player. But the coach and player fought and ownership sided with the coach. So good riddance young baller, just wish we would have gotten a piece of the future back for you

im pretty sure ive been well aware of the situation between Rasmus and the coaches long before most. And yes they should have traded him last off season before it got worse and again yes they lost their leverage. if i said "garbage" (which im sure i did), of coarse that is a overstatement, but no more of a overstatement than the praise his "potential" is getting around here and in blogger world by espn bobbleheads.
