    Their bullpen is coming together...

    Have a solid offense/defense...

Need One more solid starter to go with Cueto and they may be able to do it..

    Pirates: No chance

Brewers: Starters are not good enough, wont upgrade.. . bullpen very average..

Cardinals: See Brewers (with even worse bullpen)

I think you could say any of the contenders in the Central could become favorites if they were to pick up either of those pitchers.
Pittsburgh has a lot of young kids who play there ass off. If you infuse some veteran rentals into that line-up they could easily steal the division.

True, but the Pirates already have a set rotation, who are they going to demote if they brought in a top flight starter?

this goes overlooked every trade deadline...

Some teams hitch their wagons to guys like Greinke, Lohse, Maholm so they don't upgrade...

Reds have no problem sending guys like Leake, Arroyo, etc.. to the bullpen (mainly because they are VERY average) and making a deal...

Being a Reds fan i agree if they got 1 of them i think things would come together nicely, Leake has actually been great of late, and Cueto is lights out. They are only 4 out and are about to bust and turn things around!

              It goes without saying.

If the Cards got Jimenez or Shields they'd also probably win the Central. These teams are very close. If you add in a top player, of course they likely win the division.

Brewers also, but they don't really have anything to trade in terms of minor leaguers.

Pirates need more help than one player can provide.

Agree Yisman, just dont think the other teams have as much to offer as the Reds, those teams wont want cash they will want high valued prospects.

dise-pa if the Reds can't win the division i sure as hell don't want it to be the Cards or Brewers, so i would then be pulling for your Bucos!

So they have one of the best rotations in baseball, two of the best hitters in baseball, a top 5 bullpen, and they are struggling to hang with the fukkin Pirates!!!!
