The National Weather Service woman was on tv in Duluth,Minnesota and she said the heat-humidity index was the most extreme since 1977.It gives insight into what guys in Viet Nam dealt with during the war.Ya ever notice that all the women that are tv meteorologists are babes and all the meteorologist women at The National Weather Service look like Jane Hathaway from The Bevely Hillbillies?

    Chicago is brutal.

Girlfriend had to get up at 4 to catch a plane out to Boston for work...I just decided to come into work at 4 then. Got in here and just been sweating my ass off. Got a big industrial fan blowing on me, turned the A/C on in the office, and just pop in there about every 15 minutes.

Last night we were going to go for a bike ride, I stepped outside and said "I'll pass" and this was at 830, it was still disgusting.

Don't know what the heat index or what the actual heat is here, but it's not fun. Nice thing is the neighbor was outside getting the little blow up pool for her daughter ready....Maybe I'll have someone to creep on while staring out my closet window with my hand down my pants.

and of course, I'll have to wait til I get home and hopefully it will be a decent time and she will be outside. I may have to bust out the nice camera to snap some photos.

But you'll definitely be getting the photo of me with the hand in my pants.

Yea If I lived in Arizona, there would be absolutely no reason to complain, because you'd expect it. But when it goes from 75 one day to feeling like how it is today, it's pretty drastic.

Plus Heat Index...Is it just a typical day in AZ today, hanging out around low 90's? While in Chicago it's 105 give or take a few. Quite a difference.

Valid enough points about the swing from 70s to 90+. We stay in the hundreds for most weeks. These next few days we catch a break with mid 90s low 100s due to us being inbetween storm systems.

Im just saying 108 to 114 is common for us with humidity. So its amazing to hear complaints about so low temps.

91 right now with 45% humidity in Central NJ.

Friday is suppose to be the worst, might hit 100 degrees

But like you said, that's the normal temp, so you're used to it. Which is still hot, but probably nothing you're not used to, so obviously you wouldn't feel like you need to bring up the "hotness". Feels like 106 right now where I'm at.

We get this weather here in Georgia every summer. You make it seam like the US never had 90's and 75% humidity before. It's not life threatening. If you are outside you wear a hat and drink plenty of cool water and when you sweat you change your shirt. You may change several shirts per day but if you keeping drinking water you won't die!

I just figured you'd be used to running A/C in your work place. A/C steady at one temp in your home....yada yada yada.

I'd think that I'd be used to the 100 degree weather after a few days. When on vacation, after the first couple days, I always seem to get used to the weather and it doesn't feel "nasty" anymore.

But if the weather were like every day here, I know I'd be packing up my bags, it blows, I can't imagine how you feel, if you work outdoors or in a shop.
