Some MLB futures to consider at the all star break
Was looking over the futures market the last couple of days and looking over the al/nl pennant odds and i came up with some teams i think have some value.

    For the NL

I see these as the lines

    Winner of NL Pennant04:00 PM
    2001 Atlanta Braves+608
    2002 Arizona Diamondbacks+2224
    2004 Cincinnati Reds+2023
    2005 Colorado Rockies+3336
    2009 Milwaukee Brewers+966
    2010 NY Mets+7582
    2011 Philadelphia Phillies+117
    2012 Pittsburgh Pirates+3538
    2014 San Francisco Giants+658
    2015 St Louis Cardinals+1113
    2016 Washington Nationals+8592

I see those two as representing some decent value. I really think the braves have a good chance to go to the world series. The phillies are not good enough at the plate to win the whole thing and with braves pitchers i can see a repeat of what sf did to philly last year. Mil has some value cause they can hit and some good arms and a good late bullpen. Those are the only two i would put money on cause sf has no chance of getting back to the series( lightning rarely strikes twice).

    Winner of AL Pennant04:00 PM
    3002 Boston Red Sox+168
    3003 Chicago White Sox+2022
    3004 Cleveland Indians+2022
    3005 Detroit Tigers+1214
    3007 LA Angels of Anaheim+1512
    3008 Minnesota Twins+3540
    3009 NY Yankees+262
    3011 Seattle Mariners+6062
    3012 Tampa Bay Rays+2927
    3013 Texas Rangers+710

Although nothing stands out here the twins have to be considered good value cause they are getting healthy and have already played 50 road games as opposed to 39 home games. I think Boston is probably gonna win the AL pennant but i would also take a stab at the angels. They have good pitching but can it hold up? I surely think they can win the west.

    Thoughts?

Unless someone in the national league makes a serious trade I think the Phillies will win the pennant. Maybe if the Giants are able to get Beltran and Reyes.

If you are going to bet the Braves to win the pennant , you might as well take them to win the world series.... they would have home field advantage and I think they have a better chance at winning a series vs Red Sox than Phillies. If you want to beat the Phillies you need a good left handed starting pitcher.

As far as American League I like the Tigers and Rangers... Tigers b/c Verlander is almost certainly going to win game 1 for you and Texas b/c they can hit with Boston and New York.

Both Texas and Detroit would need to pick up another ace pitcher.

Lot of value on the braves imo, i had them winning the NL since the beggining, i see more value on the cards than the brewers.
Some value on anaheim because of the pitching, if they can make the playoffs they will be though i just dont know if they can make it to the playoffs whit those bats.

Football futures seems to be easier to bet on than Baseball futures in my opinion.

Braves have both the starting pitching and( I believe rank) no 1 in bullpen rankings...solid

5 dimes has san francisco -300 to win NL west. i think there is value on diamondbacks +335 to win that division.

All good value that you listed. I don't think LA Angels can produce the same magic. Twins are streaky but a small wager couldn't hurt.

Where your NL is concerned. Both of your highlighted picks are good teams. Brewers would be great if they could play on the road. Philly's top 3 starters are difficult to break. If a team could get to Hamels, you have a chance, Philly should take it after last season.

The Braves and the Brewers are the only two teams with a shot at beating the Phillies. Both teams have good enough arms to shut down the Phils bats. Milwaukee is an up-and-coming team and Atlanta is dangerous because they have solid starting pitching but an even better bullpen.

But the Phils won't lose, you know that lakerboy.

I only did good with Milwaukee. Atl is still +625 and the angels will be cooked after this weekend.

Phillies will win the pennant I'm pretty sure. Milwaukee's playoff rotation is a joke comparably.

Then you can take the phils. They are pretty cheap at around -140 or so.

Not looking to start an argument! Just saying I'm not sure how Marcum, Greinke, Wolf, and Gallardo could win a 7 game series with the Phils...
