Good signings by the Stars. Souray can be a beast on the back-end and was a cheap risk for the Stars. Ryder is a solid 2nd line player as well.

I'm a little surprised that the Bruins didn't offer Ryder anything seeing as Seguin loves playing with the dude and developing him is the teams #1 priority next year.

they overpaid ryder. he can shoot but cant do anything else and he is an idiot. out of position. bad on defense. etc. 3.5million/year is too much.

I agree. Especially when you consider they're only on the hook for 1.5 for him. Could be the steal of the year of he's back in top form.

Seems like some desperation signings. Ryder? Souray? Ryder was mostly invisible in the playoffs and Souray hasn't played in the league in almost 2 years

all the other 29 teams passed him up twice when he has been put on the waiver wire the last year and a half there is something wrong with this guy

Souray is far from a steal, at any salary. This guy has zero mobility, he gets beaten one-on-one all the time, makes questionable decisions in breakout passes. The only thing he's got going for him is his huge slapper. He can still score between 12 and 15 goals IMO, but that clearly doesn't make up for his weaknesses.

He's had health issues for awhile now. If he's back to 100%, I think he could be a great addition. Stars have had pretty good luck getting oft-injured players healthy and productive again after others gave up on them....i.e. Kari Lehtonen.

I actually don't mind the Dallas Stars. Morrow is a great player but he's declining. Benn and Eriksson are great young players but unless they replace Richards they really have no one to step in and distribute the puck worth a shit. Ribeiro is a sack of shit, too.

I think their defense will be exposed all season, too. Souray, if he can stay healthy, is a human pylon. Goligoski is overrated, that's why PIT gave up on him and moved him. Robidas all but disappeared last season, too.

I was happy to see Lehtonen finally stay healthy and perform but with the defense in front of him I think he will struggle.

Souray and Pardy will make up the Stars 3rd defense pairing, and they be better off throwing two pylons down on the ice.
It will be Pardy-time for the other teams forwards when these two plugs hop over the boards.
