Think how good this pitching staff is now ... think how good it would be if Wandy Rodriguez was healthy. I'm not overlooking STL, but all I am saying this might as well be a full postseason of redemption ... so I hope the Braves beat the Dodgers and allow a shot to permanently burn that Bream BS out of everyone's minds.

no offense pal but cards sucked against teams with a winning record and pirates did win the season series against the cards.

gotta say the cards are favored but that is mainly because liriano just pitched

To me, it's all about getting one in STL. With the stupid NLDS format where the best record only gets two home games, if PIT wins one in STL, I would feel fantastic about trying to get 2 of 3 at home. It's been a heavy home-home vibe for both teams in the season series. STL dominated at Busch. PIT dominated at PNC.

umm yea they did win the series 10-9, of coarse cards have taken 6 of 9 the last 3 series and 2 of those pit wins were with liriano pitching, ive said it 100 times if liriano could pitch twice this series id be very afraid, he owns us and i bet pit every time he on mound vs cards and will again in gm 3..think at least 3 of those 10 pit wins were with westbrook pitching who is god awful and everyone on pit hits him, unfortunately you wont be seeing him..

not saying pit cant win, ive said for months pit was the team i didnt want cards to have to play cause they play them really tough, of coarse i was saying this scared that we would see liriano twice..not scared of burnett, he is good but has been creamed in stl and ill take waino against him in playoff gms all day every day, cards have been lights out at home so another thing that eases some concern for me..

i think it will be a great series, i like pit and been around here for years rooting for you guys to become relevant as i like the pit guys around here and find pirate fans the only fans in the nl central that can actually have a intelligent conversation at the gms as they typically know their baseball unlike the retards rooting for the scrubbies, brew crew, or reds.. if somehow pit wins this series ill be pulling for them to win it all..dont think it will happen as ill take waino at home in gm 5..

Edit: Guess they did. That was just stupid last year when it was 2-3.

yea i think the way EP is talking bout was just something that happened last season due to how late they decided on format..it was just a temporary 1 time deal...

havnt seen the way the rotations set up, wouldnt surprise me if pit stole one, think cards will steal it back in gm 4, that one thing about the cards, being down 2-1 playing gm 4 in pit will not faze them as they more battle tested than anyone in the nl.. the way im betting it is to get one win in stl, not sure if i will get greedy and go for 2 or not, then i will bet liriano in gm 3, then cards rest of way..

i could see pit stealing gm 2..lynn is far from trustworthy,, id go miller gm 2 as he been nails at home or even wacha, guess wacha not gonna be in rotation tho,,but i usually have issues with matheny's choices, so then he gonna start kelly on road which a good move cause that kid can pitch anywhere, you guys can give kelly the cueto business all u want wont faze him..miller not as sure about, it really makes no sense to me why miller wouldnt get the gm 2 nod here? if buccos beat lynn in gm 2 and then kelly loses a tough one to liriano then id be scared of gm 4 a little bit with miller on road. maybe throw miller vs liriano then have kelly to get it back to stl? i dunno im pretty pissed lynn the gm 2 starter, id burn lynn vs liriano,,sux now feel like lynn has to win and i dont trust him..

yea but shelby at home i think gives cards a better chance than lynn..i mean lynn been good at home as well but miller nails, think cards 11-2 in his home starts..i think this move certainly helps pit chances of stealing one in stl..of coarse if i was pit id consider locke in gm 2 just cause cards dont hit lefties nearly as well, been better of late tho...

Good points but Cards have one of their best starters and a solid left handed home starter hurt themselves in Carpenter and Jaime...both teams have filled in the holes nicely.
