They already got the home game clinched if they go the wild card route. Worse they do is tie SF and they have the head-2-head advantage this season. Typical Pirates game. Close and gonna be won or lost late.

I think you have to save Cole, not like a win guarantees anything, even if you win and St Louis loses, you still have to beat them on the road tomorrow.

I think you go for it with what you have scheduled in Cole. I think it sends a bad message to skip his turn and "save" him for whatever down the road. So you're basically telling your team as the manager that we shouldn't want to win the division? And that you want to put all your cards into a one game playoff? F that.

Worst case scenario, if they end up in the wild card - you have Volquez on normal rest.

I agree whole heartedly. I've said it before, he's got to be the most underrated off-season signing that did fantastic things. Healthy all season and their most consistent starter. I'll take that. Gonna be a nail biter against Bumgarner. Like that Bum has a poor record against PIT despite pitching pretty well against them, although they roughed him up in one look this year.

Think the Bucs make the postseason more interesting, so hopefully Karma wants them there against the Nats.

I think you guys have a very good shot to go against the Nationals. What worries me is (I might be wrong here so please correct me but) the bullpen looked very shaky in the last week or so.
