I don't understand when you are fortunate to grab an early 2-0 lead why you don't just sit back, heck you would frustrate Mexico and it would open them up for counter attacks.... no way should you be up 2 and end up losing by 2, agreed pathetic

US has notoriously been bad on defense....I agree, the US should of packed the box on defense and made it hard on Mexico, but they continued to attack and the field got stretched....which is bad for the US. Bradley made horrible tactical decisions at the World Cup, and unfortunately for the US he did it again. Not sure what adjustments he made at the half...but they were bad

Until the US Soccer Federation decides to make drastic changes to their organization...nothing will ever change. They need to jettison the coaching staff and a few of the older players to include Tim Howard, Cherundalo, and others. The US team lacks speed, defensive prowness, and imagination on offense. The biggest problem is they just don't have a great pool of players to select from. When you're running some of the players they have over the last couple of games, you're bound to get smacked.

Here is the problem with US Soccer. An average HS has about 250 male seniors. Out of those 75 are athletic enough to play sports. After the football coach picks the best 40, the basketball coach picks 10 and the baseball coach picks 15 the last 10 guys are left for the soccer team. So unless the best athletes of HS play soccer and not football or baseball nothing is going to change with the US national team in the near future.

I couldnt believe what i was seeing. The Defense was awful today. Im not sure who it was but the USA defender pretty much gave up 2 goals on his own. I feel bad for Howard because no matter how good he is, it doesnt matter with the defense thats in front of him.

Master of the Obvious....US Men's Soccer doesn't hold a candle to European...pretty much everyone knows that. Women's soccer is a tad closer, where the US is on par with Germany etc. Today's match was a display of guts and luck. Being down a player and goal in a World Cup match to win is pretty damn good, especially against a quality opponent.

US Women's soccer took a step back the past few years but overall USA Women are a better than all of Europe and it should be that way for the foreseeable future. Im guessing it's #1 sport in the USA with clubs popping up everywhere. I think it's the Brazils we will always worry about because of the creative way they play. It's like basketball in the inner city. They just evolve it and figure it out from playing it because they love it. Soccer is the thing to do now for US girls who pour thousands into it so they can fly to tourneys and get coaches from England who tell them what Brazil girls learn by doing.
