Jagr Coming Back To The NHL
Also certain that Jagr will head back to the NHL. Red Wings are reported to be the front runners to land the 39-year old NHL vet. Montreal has also been rumored to have a lot of interest.

    Thoughts?

I hope he comes back with the Pens. Even an old Jagr should produce with Crosby or Malkin.

He was solid in Vancouver as well as the recent worlds. I like him, would love to see him come to Detroit. Guy has quite a bit of gas left in his tank.

ya but he was playing for his country in a short tourney

With the long grind of a NHL season, he doesn't have much left in the tank, he never had much desire or work ethic even in his prime

Montreal landing Jagr still doesn't make them a contender. I'd put my money on Detroit landing him. They have plenty of cap room (I think almost $25M), they need another scorer and they always take those grizzled vets for some reason (See Hull, Modano, Bertuzzi)

I think he'd be a good fit in Detroit and he would thrive there. I haven't seen him skate, but if he still has some wheels, then he might fit in real nice with Montreal, too.

Just curious to know how these numbers could be considered average?

even in his last 3 years in the KHL playing less than 60 games in a season the guy netted 19,22 and 25 goals.

                                19 goals in 49 games
                                22 goals in 51 games
                                25 goals in 55 games.

I dont' care what people say, this guy would be a solid addition to any team.....ANY.

Average players don't have these accolades attached to their names:

                                1994-95 NHL Art Ross Trophy
                                1997-98 NHL Art Ross Trophy

Guy has almost 1,600 NHL points, he's a hall of famer for sure.

Guy was averaging 115 points per year between 95-01, that's some serious production.

nobody said jagr was not a great player in his prime but his time has passed and the long grind of a nhl season would wear on him .

He still can help a team and would get around 20 goals and 60 points in the nhl next year

Based on what? There are plenty of AHL rejects that went over to the KHL and are currently outscoring him over there.

was a gr8 player ... will definetly be in hall of fame but i fear he is well past it and the long nhl season would kill him.

hope im wrong on this but i dont thinks....

plenty have tried but most fail to comeback to nhl at that age

ie peter forsberg (my vote for best european ever)

He's always been a hard fcuk to knock off the puck and could still play 2nd line and top PP time. I foresee him missing 10-15 games due to injury though. Guy better still rock the mullet if he comes back.
